Amazing Photographs, the other side of WC

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Amazing photography here and obviously a serious side to it as well. But as said, simply stunning pictures.

When we were in Portugal 2004 Euro's we were based on the Algarve for obvious reasons and England's second game was at Coimbra which was an eight hour journey on a train which felt like being in a microwave oven. After the match we were informed that no trains would be leaving till midnight so we had to spend the next six hours on the drink in Coimbra.Got on the train at midnight and arrived at Faro train station where we had to change trains at 8 in the morning absolutely knackered and when everybody got off the train at Faro we were met with a scene very much like that photo it was well over the top everybody just wanted a bed not a riot.

Can't be too careful with people who want to have a say in how their country is run. Oh, hang on...

Be interesting to see how the pressure builds as obviously they also have the Olympics. One report I read said London had been sounded out about hosting if needs be.

Watched an interview with a Brazilian gov official, she was saying how it is unfortunate that the money ring fenced for social housing plus other community problems had been swallowed by the world cup building programme, but on the plus side, those who owned property close to the venues had been able to raise the rents which did result in many more made homeless, but those who could afford it were okay and living in an improved environment.

Plus side?!

And the rich get richer, what's happening over there is disgusting, thankfully we live in a democracy :3: where "storm trooper" police are not the norm and even though we have all that riot equipment, water cannons, bean bag guns, tazers, batons, they would obviously never use them on us, well, as long as we behave, keep swallowing all their shit and do as we are told anyway.

Have really enjoyed the programmes on Brazil leading up to the World Cup. Certainly a deeply divided rich/poor country. So many are there.

£2b on these venues could have been spent so much better to help the lot of the very poor.
