Respected football journalist Alan Nixon is reporting that Adam Henley is on Blackpool’s radar as they consider strengthening their side by dipping into the free agent market.

Adam Henley was released by Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season and has been looking for a new club ever since.

Blackpool are supposedly looking at the versatile defender now before considering a contract offer.

Gary Bowyer knows Henley from when the pair were both at Blackburn and is thinking about offering him the chance of a reunion.

Henley already has plenty of experience despite his young age.

The 23-year-old has 80 league appearances to his name already in his career and almost has 100 senior games under his belt in total.

Born in the United States, Adam Henley has been twice capped by Wales due to his Welsh mother.

Adam Henley now appears to be on trial with Blackpool, who are in League One after winning promotion via the play-offs last season.

The Tangerines have enjoyed a fast start to the season and sit sixth in the league table with five wins in nine games.

Blackpool are on the up and bringing in a new versatile defender would certainly boost their squad options.

League One is a long and challenging division and Gary Bowyer will need all of his squad.

Henley is able to play at right-back or left-back, making him a useful asset and his age makes him a promising prospect.

I thought you had to be a player of a certain standard to play international football. My Mum was English but England never came calling. :grins:
