A-Z Of Sports Stadiums

V Villa Park- was there for our FA cup victory (17/02/68) when Jim Storrie scored the winner - a game which is mentioned by Godber in an episode of "Porridge".
33481 fans in the stadium for that match - great atmosphere!

Seen the Millers play there four times (W3, L1)... also been there for the greyhound racing, before the stadium was redeveloped . Sat in the Royal Box once - only briefly though!
Can understand now why players often used to stumble when going up to collect cup trophies. The steps leading up there were narrow and quite steep - not ideal for tired legs.

X Xanthi FC stadium - Home of Xanthi FC from the Thrace region of Greece. Currently playing in the Greek Super League 2 (Greek professional football Level 2) . Stadium capacity 7422. They left their old city centre stadium to move to the current modern one, on the outskirts of Xanthi, in 2004. This is a common feature of European football at all levels, but thankfully not for the Millers.

...or could have had York Road, home ground of Maidenhead United FC , and scene of last season's FA Cup tie when the Millers won 3-1 in the pouring rain.

Z Zenit Gazprom Arena - home of Zenit St. Petersburg FC. Official capacity 68134!

Well we certainly know our stadiums - although they change name that much it's difficult keeping up with them!

Thanks to everyone for having a go!
