14/04/22 Glocs v Yorks (CC)

LOL !

Forgot to say that there is a live match stream on YouTube.

Lunch : Glocs 58-2 . Fisher has taken both wickets.

Tea : Gloucs 155-4. Fisher has bowled well and has taken three wickets so far. One wicket for Patterson. Harris 88 n.o.

Update : Glocs 227 all out.( Harris 136). Best Yorks bowlers were Fisher 4-19 , Patterson 2-43, and Rauf (on debut) with 3-81. The Aussie international Harris was dropped a couple of times, and that proved to be quite expensive!

Close of play : Good start by Yorkshire (37-0). Lyth 24 n.o. , Hill 3 n.o. - would have settled for that at the start today.

Day Two

Lunch : Yorks 129-3 (Lyth 52). Malan 39 n.o., Brook 10 n.o.

Tea : Yorks 239-5. Steady progess by Yorkshire. Malan was dismissed straight after lunch for 39. Good stand of 91 then by Duke (34) and Brook, who is now 78 n.o. Bess is also undefeated on 4 n.o.

Update : Yorks 300-6 now. Bess just out for 36. Well played , Harry Brook, 101 n.o.

Close of play : Yorks 334-8. (Brook 101). Yorkshire crumbled away a bit after Tea, but the ball seemed to be swinging about quite a bit. Thompson has played well for his 31 n.o., and the Yorkshie lead is now over a hundred. Nothing spectacular, but a good day's effort from the Yorkshire batsmen, particularly Brook.(y)

Day Four

Hard going for Yorkshire this morning. Can't get Bracey out.

Lunch: Glocs 333-8 (Bracey 153 n.o.). Wickets in the session for Rauf and Patterson.

Update 1: Glocs 359 all out (Bracey 177) . Best Yorkshire bowlers were Patterson with 4-43 and Rauf 3-96.

Tea : Yorks 54-2 . Hill 19 n.o., Malan 11 n.o. Yorkshire need 157 more runs to win.

Update 2 (5.25 pm) : Yorkshire 167-4. (Hill made 33). Malan was last man out for 65. Yorkshire need 44 more runs to win.

Result : Yorks 213-4. Brook 56 n.o., Duke 17 n.o. Best Glocs bowler was Singh-Dale with 2-30.
Another fine innings by Harry Brook - he is in good form at the moment. Malan's 65 had earlier put Yorkshire in a strong position to go on and win. Useful support from Duke at the end too.
Yorkshire won by 6 wickets.

I thought we'd blown it but that was very good.
