    Around the Grounds

They already have principal consent to lease the site and Cherwell DC knew what that meant when they granted it, and while planning consent won't necessarily be straightforward it ticks an awful lot of the boxes Cherwell DC are looking for in using that site...

He probably simply wouldn't sign it, why would he if he wants to progress his career?

He's in a packed 18 yard box the ball is popping around, he's facing his own goal and surrounded by opposition players, there's only one sensible decision in this situation and that's get rid...

His decision to actually take a touch in the box was the really bad one in my opinion, everything else stemmed from that in my eyes

Just got back, different team in the 2nd half. Every set piece caused chaos in their box and we finally started winning some 2nd ball. Lovely finish by Freddie in front of the fans. The only way we were going to let them back in was with a mistake and we tightened up considerably to prevent that...

Skubala having a fit at Jensen half way through the second half, telling him to pump it long. Jensen asking which side he needs to kick it... We've looked incredibly ponderous on the ball at the back and Mandriou is having a shocker

Yeah the keeper got a piece of it, powerfully struck penno though and he was going away from the ball so unlikely to stop it unless he got pretty much his entire hand/arm behind it.

Had a very civilised conversation with one of their fans on the way back to the car. Complimented us on our defensive organisation, I said they looked by far the better footballing team on the night but we came to get a job done, which given their recent form was inevitable...

This also means the end of Michael Hortin commentating on the live TV broadcasts? I assume he will be retained for the BBC Radio Lincolnshire radio broadcasts?

They opened only 2 turnstiles for the league cup game and loads of us didn't get until 15 minutes into the match. Steward explained "we didn't think so many would turn up". I replied "I bet this wouldn't happen at Villa Park" Lot's of people sitting on the steps because there weren't any seats...

    Reading - Past Encounters

I remember a game at a cold Sincil Bank in the 74-75 season I think? A 1-1 draw which we rescued with a late equaliser to keep our unbeaten home record intact. I chiefly remember it for their keeper being Steve D'eath and he was superb, making some very acrobatic saves that impressed 10 year old...

Can we make the play offs?

As long as "having fun" along the way doesn't become an expectation that we should be competing at the top end of the table next season then it's all fine..
