Jez George - Jan transfer window

It's a must listen really.

Transfer window aims:

Permanent signings that will be assets brought forward - tick
Best available loan signing brought in Morgan Rogers - tick
Brennan Johnson and others on loan retained - tick
Jorge Grant contract extended - tick
Players needing game time out on loan - tick
Financial support from the board - tick

None of it is speculative. It is down to hard work analysing, watching and advance vetting.

Serious relationship building with the best clubs to showcase our club now and for future dealings.

Magnificent stuff  Well done to everyone involved in the process.

Jez George:

"None of them come here for financial reasons, they come here for sporting reasons".

"We're lucky to have such a brilliant owner in Clive, such a brilliant CEO in Liam and such a brilliant board. It really is a club that you have a chance of success because from the top down it's run properly".

JG also talked about how the bar is being raised at first team and youth development level. As the club goes from strength to strength there are no passengers amongst the signings. They are seen as ready for the Championship if we are fortunate enough to get there.

And excellent run in FA Youth Cup shows how well things have advanced in that part of club too, with quite a few coming through into first team teamsheets at times too.

I caught the interview Saturday afternoon - its well worth a listen and there are a few nuggets sprinkled in there on how the club operates, now it is fishing in a very different pond. Recommended listening.

As everyone has said, really good interview. This isn’t the Lincoln City FC I have known for 50 years. It’s so much more. So professional and forward looking. The interview underlines the amount of sheer hard work and planning/development that is going on with a view to taking the club to the next level. Couldn’t happen without having all the right people in the right jobs at the right time from the top down, right through the whole club. What I like is how pro-active and quickly they move for players who ‘might’ become available and then do, having done all their homework on players before they become available. Reflects superbly on the club when they can attract quality loan players from the top clubs for non-monetary reasons. To do it all under the current restrictions of Covid, the salary cap, etc is brilliant and is another reason we are so fortunate to have the leadership we have at the club. What next in the journey 🤞
