    Remy Howarth Signs New Deal!

I enjoyed the official Twitter announcement where they referred to him as Trialist A

    Michael Appleton Signs New Contract!

Fantastically good news. Naturally it doesn't mean he may not move to a bigger club, as it would for any player either, but it's a strong message at a great time. Well done to all concerned

    Fatigue ?

Scot, the season started 24 weeks ago. We only have two outfield players who have started more than 30 games.

    Fatigue ?

I've made several posts already outlining why that shouldn't be the case with 20 games to go. Certainly not in comparison with other teams. So I'm not going to repeat all those points again.

    Fatigue ?

The numbers are good but we only have two outfield players who have started more than 30 games so far. Also several clubs have had longish spells without a game due to Covid, which has disrupted their season and means they haven't been able to take advantage of spare midweek dates. I agree...

Its 32% to 37% for away wins @Bucksimp. Which is sizeable but not as much as most were probably expecting. It works out at around 4 points lost at home (on average) because of the swing. The lack of a crowd is a double edged sword. Although you can say that a good home crowd can spur you on to...

    Fatigue ?

That's my point, @Luke Imp, tiredness should not be getting mentioned now, that's only a possibility later on. And, injuries permitting, there is sufficient depth now after the January window to cover for rotations. What's happened since Doncaster is a drop in level, which can happen at any...

    Our Fishy Friends

Good for Cooper, he didn't make any excuses, just said they played badly and didn't work hard enough.

    Fatigue ?

If the physical planning of this squad means that it's run out of gas after 26 games of a 46 game season then whoever is responsible for that should be packing his belongings right now. Naturally, they shouldn't, because the very idea that could be possible in today's game is ludicrous.

    Fatigue ?

Last season ended on 7th March, though, so every footballer is playing more this season than last. Having praised them for their fitness, the ability to score late goals and not concede them, why are they more tired than those of other teams now? I'm not going with that excuse, it shouldn't...

Maybe not as much as you'd think. There are more away wins, it equates to about 30 extra wins in total over the whole season, and almost entirely at the expense of draws. The number of home wins is pretty much the same. If you take the average in the previous two fully completed L1 seasons...

    The Run In

Don't fall into the trap of extrapolating the rest of the season from the last couple of games. Doncaster, Portsmouth and Hull have all been expected to storm away in the recent past. I've always thought that Sunderland would improve, though they still need to have an exceptional run to the...

That is a pleasant surprise. It encouraged me to look at the table myself. It turns out that we have the 3rd best form in the last five games of any of the top 10 (9 points). Only Peterborough (15) and Sunderland (10) have better.

I'm a fan of Scully @nlondonimp though tonight was not good for him, as most others. Nevertheless he almost scored from the Grant/Ref through ball, and pinged quite a few across goal in the second half. They were all wayward, but it's more than our other forward players came up with. We have...

Yes, there is that :) But Rogers does run himself into blind alleys and a lot of good positions are wasted as a result. Admittedly those are often good positions he's got himself into, but it's frustrating. Johnson has not played well for a while and I don't think it's any coincidence that we...
