No problem TQ. It's probably better for the players' seasonal averages if less posters provide their ratings today.I'm afraid I won't be rating this game either, I only had radio commentary and I'm not going to sit through the whole match when it's up on Spursplay. Sorry Gary.
I wish I'd only had radio commentary, TQ .... without the sound.I'm afraid I won't be rating this game either, I only had radio commentary and I'm not going to sit through the whole match when it's up on Spursplay. Sorry Gary.
Your post brought a tear to my eye. I couldn't agree more. The only problem is we as a team couldn't wrestle a lollipop out of a child's hand. This won't be easy
Vicario 7 - don't remember him being at fault for any goals and made a couple of other good saves.
Pedro Porro 5
Romero 6
Van de Ven 5
Udogie 5
The tactical system will always leave the centre halves one-on-one, or the full-backs hopelessly out of position. I feel bad marking these guys down for a system that they probably don't believe in
Bentancur 5.5
Bissouma 5.5
I worry about these two. I bet they would just love to work as a double pivot and protect their back line. Did nothing directly wrong, but they looked outmuscled and outpaced in the middle of the park.
Johnson 6
Maddison 5
Werner 5.5
Son 4
Just couldn't retain possession or create anything in this game.
Royal 6 - looked better than Porro in this one. Kept fighting.
Hojbjerg 5.5
Sarr 5.5
Kulusevski 6
Switching the centre mid made little difference to be fair. Kulu huffed and puffed but couldn't impact the outcome.
Lo Celso -
Ange 1 - It really is now down to Ange whether he applies some common sense and reacts to his shit show tactics. They cost us all the goals, not for first time I might add. A manager that doesn't respect his opponents tactics and just has a plan A. He then does stupid interviews and says things like "we let them have control". No Ange, top teams playing at home will have control. Your job is to get control back.
The team 5.5 - I'm starting to feel sorry for the guys. Even if their heart is telling them to follow their leader, their heads are saying different. I'm not convinced they believe in the "system" and that shows in their performances. They are confused as it works against the bottom sides. Then they go to St James Park and get schooled by a very credible coach like Howe. Our players know they aren't as bad as they are being made to look in this tactical setup.
It's all about our lack of leadership in key moments and lack of bite in the middle.Your post brought a tear to my eye. I couldn't agree more. The only problem is we as a team couldn't wrestle a lollipop out of a child's hand.
With the likes of Benty, Madds, Sonny & Romero in the 1st team we really ought to be expecting better. It's all about our lack of leadership in key moments and lack of bite in the middle.
The leadership issue is more worrying as our defence is like a headless chicken.
So many players are below the standard they set for themselves at the beginning of the season. With the likes of Benty, Madds, Sonny & Romero in the 1st team we really ought to be expecting better.
Our MF is broken. Madds needs better protection & our forwards need better service & if we only have Madds providing it we're going to have a pretty big problem moving forward.
Our defending in general has been laughable at times, the goals against column doesn't lie. The seasoned pros should all be faring better. Something as you say is seriously amiss. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Romero wanted out.So many players are below the standard they set for themselves at the beginning of the season.
Whether it’s fatigue from the way we play, or the stop-start nature of this season, something is seriously amiss among the players. It’s now beyond worrying that the coaches have not been able to get them out of this malaise for months now.
Bentancour nor Biss can't last more than 60 mins, Sarr looks like a child who's learning the game and shouldn't even get near our U-21's. Bizarrely, the only one not shirking when he's on the pitch and showing some smarts/leadership is Hoj!? There was almost no fight in any of our midfield once we went behind.
Son is better running from deep, instead he, Johnson and Madds just tried to dribble through a brick wall to no avail. Why?
Madds has looked a shadow of himself since his return from a 3 Months forced lay off, so he gets a pass card from me for now.
Also for the love of God please please fix the set piece defending…this should be an easier fix then some other aspects, but we just aren’t doing it. Why? If this carries on, I'll be hawking Romero around the leagues myself, he's looked clueless for too many games now. What's wrong with him and Pedro, they look like they don't even recognise each other?
Game after game of zonal defence at corners is killing us, everyone can see it, but apparently, not Ange nor the coaching staff.
As you can tell, I'm frustrated and grumpy.
Then I'd let him go, he's gone backwards and dragged us with him.Our defending in general has been laughable at times, the goals against column doesn't lie. The seasoned pros should all be faring better. Something as you say is seriously amiss. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Romero wanted out.
I reckon he'd be a big loss. That being said his current form stinks. Then I'd let him go, he's gone backwards and dragged us with him.
