Zak & List

When they signed it was on two year deals the club has just announced. Why didn't they announce that at the time of signing? Good news anyway, certainly about Zak.

It's quite easy to amend an article after it's published, Durham. Why else would the club have made the announcement today if we already knew the contract lengths?

Lots of clubs doing this and some just never announcing contract length. Is it some sort of attempt to conceal how much is left in the kitty to stop agents from holding all the cards?

Glad Zak has decided to stay for a few seasons, one of my family members showed me a video on a app called snap something with him talking to someone saying that there was a deal for 2 years, this was months ago before the season even ended.

Good news on Zak. With him and Ehmer on longer deals we have stability in the middle of defense.

List I am less sure about. If he steps up and becomes a first team regular then its good business. If, similar to this season he is on the fringes with a few minutes sub here and there then not so sure. Still lets hope its the former and then we will be glad that he is under contract.

A stronger midfield will help Zak .Last season there was often no quick easy passes out of defence .With the right players in front of him his value will be even more evident .

But will we lose Zak to some African tournament next season or the one after?
I believe the next African nations takes place in the summer in line with the next world cup .FIFA almost certainly pointing out if Africa can't do it how can you expect the rest of the world to play in the summer .

It is extremely odd though. The articles are relatively "old" and not on the "latest news" option. So why bother to amend them? Conversely, why bother to announce the lengths if they were already in the articles?

Either way, it seems weird.

EDIT- Just looked at the original thread. And Herr is right, there apparently was no mention of the length of either contract at that time.

Maybe I just imagined it, but I was fairly sure at the time they announced the deals that the club originally posted that they'd both signed 1-year extensions, but then the length of the contracts suddenly disappeared from the articles.
