Youth - U23 - Loans Thread

Yes, very strange decision to play Bailey and send a kid on loan who has now been recognised by Tommy T.

Its really not. This isn't about Bailey v Jimoh. Its about developing Jimoh who can't be 'given a go' in the midst of our season as it is.
Glad Unai doesnt fall into the play the youth too quickly. Forever and a day those who end up top quality players have gone on loan. Kane. Beckham... our own Super Jack.

This makes perfect sense to developing this talented kid. You kill kids careers playing them too early in the 1st team .

Because I suspect he'd be more useful to us than Bailey. Not a huge ask admittedly but I'd prefer seeing him come off the bench than Leon. Even if he didn't contribute much more him gaining experience at this level is better than Bailey stealing appearance fees.
Unfortunately, the sample of what you are saying here is 10 mins in January v Salzburg.
Unai will need more than that to rely on a kid to win/ change the game for us in the PL or EL knock outs .
Let's not do this to another kid by promoting him to quickly above what we have seen.

Under-21s are playing now on Villa TV. 1-0 down to Blackburn at HT.

Won 2-1 in the end

Just put on the Scottish cup semi final between Dunfermline and Falkirk to have a look at Ben Broggio. Nil nil an hour in.

Absolutely dire standard here. Broggio seems to be the only guy on the pitch who can control a ball properly. He came close with a shot from about 20 yards.

You can tell his favourite player was Grealish as well.

Edit:Falkirk just fucked up a 3 on 2 when the lad on the ball took 30 years to decide what to do then made a mess of a simple pass through to Broggio.

Louie Barry starting his forst game for Stockport after his loan move in Jan. Was injured when he went and was out for another couple of months before getting some bench appearances.
In the playoffs but not secured and 0-0 at the moment, though.

He's starting again for Stockport in their 12:30 as they try to cement their P/O place.

Not really interesting, I suppose, just trying to take my mind off my Onana Irritation.

Anyone who doesn't fall down in a gust of wind is better than Bailey :ROFLMAO:

He's about as useful as a baby thoroughbred horse, one with three legs and a gammy hoof.
They're the ones I usually back when I have a flutter on the horses

Curious what Olabe will do with these lads. At 22 and 5'7 playing in League Two its kind of hard to see how he can step up. Good productive loan spell tho, pity we can't seem to nail those with more consistency. We've wasted Jimoah out at WBA, Barry was wasted at Sheffield and I am not sure sending Broggio up to Scotland is the best use of him.

Tough trying to find teams who'll give them the game time I suppose.

Looking at Bogie it just reinforces how hard it is to make at not just the level we're performing but where we're trying to get to. Tim Iro seems to be doing well enough for Everton but this is almost two full seasons for him to start performing anywhere near where we'd need him and even then he is limited.

Not to mention some of the deadweight we have in Dobbin and Iling-Jnr, selling is almost irrelevant because it barely factors into the UEFA stuff in terms of our Cat A list issue.

If O'Reilly ,at just 5ft 7in ,has done well in the more physical League 2 then he must have something about him. Not a League for faint hearts or man fannies
