So who are the best in the land? Who deserves to be in that first 11?

Using a 442 set up, name your team.

GK Pope

RB Walker
RCB Stones
LCB White
LB Shaw

DM Rice
CM Phillips

AM Fodden

RF Sterling
ST Kane
LAM Grealish

If it is a 4-4-2.
Pope
Walker, Stones, White, Chillwell
Foden, Rice, Bellingham, Grealish
Kane, Sterling

I would probably pick the same line up in a 4231.
If it is a back 5 then drop Sterling and add Alexander Arnold

Pickford
Trent Stones Dier Saka
Foden Henderson Rice Grealish
Kane Sterling

If it has to be 4-4-2, I’d set up with TAA and Saka as attacking fullbacks with two solid CM’s holding. Maybe even getting Rice to drop into the LCB position when England are in possession to make a 3-5-2.

In your line-up, I would have that captains armband on any of the centre halves or centre mids. They would all make good captains.

What about this 4-4-2, combining the last couple of gens of players

Pickford
Walker, Rio, Ledders, Cole
Beckham, Gerrard, Scholes, Cole
Kane, Rooney

As it's 4-4-2, we can have old Stockpile Harry in charge.

Still gives me shivers seeing Sven playing Scholes as a LM in a 442.

Yep, to accommodate 2 players in Gerrard and Lampard that weren't fit to lace his boots.

Till this day many say Lampard and Gerrard were better. 🤦‍♂️

I loved it when Scholes came back out of retirement for a short period and just owned everyone he played against.

It was like "yeah I'm past my prime and I still own you ".
