Yeovil Town (h): What 3 Things Do We Need To Do To Beat Them?

Play hard, but fair, don't let Yeovil settle:
Danny and Nicky will have had a full week to plan for this game, they may have some basic ideas about how Yeovil play, but a lot of it goes out of the window with them 'Having nothing to play for'. So this has to be all about us, this is our moment, we should be on the pitch dictating how this game goes. If we are perceived as being a physical, bullying team, then let them have that. We do not need our players putting the 'reducer' on their players, and getting a yellow card for the team, but we can make it uncomfortable for them; don't let them linger on the ball, press them. No floaty free kicks and corners, hit them hard, make them dangerous.
Yeovil should know that they are in a battle, and if at least one of them is in holiday mode then we will find a crack, in whatever plan they have, and go straight through them.

Concentrate and be Sharp:
What will a team without anything to play for come to Sincil bank and do?
A speculative shot or two from the half-way line, a Cruyff turn on the edge of our box. Everyone needs to have their concentration levels at 100%; Yeovil will not be here to play for pride, they will be here for a bit of fun and to entertain their own fans, who they will appreciate have made a very long journey to watch them play.
With our concentration we need to be sharp, they can try the spectacular and make something from nothing, but let's not make any silly mistakes that could give them an easy gift.

Be Patient:
And after all of that, we may end up facing a Goal Keeper who has been bitten by a radioactive cat and not let anything go past him, a 16 year old wunderkind who'll run around the pitch for half an hour with the ball at his feet; there may be, or there will be, times when we need to be patient, times when we need to keep going hard and force them into a mistake, times we need to concentrate and turn that over-reaching bit of exciting play into our counter-attack, times when we do not need to be doing anything rash or hasty.
After all, we know we can score very, very late in games.

UTI

1. The FIRST goal is going to be the most important, if we score we CANNOT become complacent, it will settle some nerves, and give us confidence. If Yeovil score first we CANNOT start to panic as this could mean us being well beaten. We must follow the gameplan, not get overconfident and above all not panic if it's 0-0 in the 88th minute. Remember we only need a point.

2. We should not play for a draw, worst possible thing we can do, as it only takes a second to score a goal, a second that could ruin our whole season.

3. We need to ignore all reports of other games involving teams around us ESPECIALLY Mansfield. It is our game that matters, no one elses. It is in our hands so lets treat it that way. Unless Mansfield are losing 3-1 in the 89th minute, then we might be able to start the party.
