Yellow Cards 2020-21

Update after the Blackpool game.

The final cut-off point is the 46th game of the season: fifteen yellow cards on or before that date will incur a three-game suspension that may be carried over to next season. With eight games remaining, the only players who can still pick up a yellow card suspension are those currently on 7, and they would each have to pick up a yellow card in every remaining game:

7: Edun, Johnson, Jones, McGrandles
6: Bridcutt, Grant
5: Eyoma, Montsma
4: Jackson
3: Bramall*
2: Morton, Walsh
1: Hopper, Palmer, Rogers, Roughan, Scully
0: Anderson, Archibald, Howarth, Poole, Sanders

*Bramall: 3 yellows for Colchester
Only 6 or 7 - lightweights!!!!

Has Johnson actually had a "necessary" yellow card or have they all been for childish fits of pique or petulant fouls?
Probably not.

Whereas a few of Jones's, including yesterday's, have been Man City style "one for the team" to disrupt a potential break.

Update after the MK Dons game.

The final cut-off point is the 46th game of the season: fifteen yellow cards on or before that date will incur a three-game suspension that may be carried over to next season. With seven games remaining, the only player who can still pick up a yellow card suspension is Brennan Johnson, and he would have to pick up a yellow card in every remaining game:

8: Johnson
7: Edun, Jones, McGrandles
6: Bridcutt, Grant
5: Eyoma, Montsma
4: Jackson
3: Bramall*
2: Morton, Walsh
1: Hopper, Palmer, Poole, Rogers, Roughan, Scully
0: Anderson, Archibald, Howarth, Sanders

*Bramall: 3 yellows for Colchester

Regan Poole's run of 48 League One appearances without a yellow card ended tonight.

Harry Anderson extended his run to 49 League One games without a yellow, and to 63 games in all competitions.

I think Johnson could make it. 😀
Yes, he really needs to learn that he has to bite his lip and just walk away when a decision goes against him (Or better still, just stand there and drop the ball at his feet so the oppo can’t take it quickly). Earlier in the season he’ll get a suspension and his team-mates (&manager) won’t thank him for that. Part of his development which MA needs to address before he goes back to Florist.

That’s amazing when you see that Archibald, Howarth and Sanders have hardly played).

Update after the Bristol Robbers game.

I have been trying to put this thread to bed for several weeks now, but Brennan Johnson won't let me. Three yellows in a row now, and four in his last five games. So...

Just clarify the reported 13 for Tayo as mentioned by Hortin. I assume he also managed to get 5 cup bookings this season

Hallelujah, and praise be to Brennan Johnson!

Brennan's skilful avoidance of the referee's pocket last night means we can no longer have a player suspended for 15 yellow cards. Therefore we can end this thread in the knowledge that no Lincoln player earned a yellow card suspension for league games in 2020-21.

Don't worry though, the Yellow Card thread will return next season. Isn't that great news?
