Wycombe v Swansea Sat 26 Sept 12:30
It’s Wycombe’s first ever season in the Championship in their 133 year history.
After defeats in their first two games, 0-1 to Rotherham and a 5-0 hiding at Blackburn, they will be eager to get a first win under their belts.
Attention as always focuses on our ex-players, and it’s fans favourite ‘Bayo’ this time. Now 38 years old, ex-Swan Adebayo Akinfenwa spent two seasons with us, and has the unenviable record of being the heaviest professional footballer in the world. He had surgery on his injured right knee at the end of July after scoring 10 goals in their promotion season and he is still recovering so there won’t be the usual ‘ex-player scores against us’ scenario this time around, at least.
He recently signed a new one year deal at Adams Park, extending his four year stay there, amazing considering his age.

For us, our defence is playing well, not having conceded a goal in our first two games, but our lack of goals scored, one in two matches, is a big concern, with no sign of reinforcements incoming and Steve Cooper saying there’s no money available.

“.........there won’t be the usual ‘ex-player scores against us’ scenario this time around” referring to the injured Bayo.
Seems I was wrong there. It emerges that there is another ex-Swan playing for Wycombe, forward Alex Samuel. He was a regular for our U-21’s in 2014-15 season when they won the PD League 2 title and he remained with us, loan deals to Morton and Newport in between, until released in the summer of 2017. He then signed for L2 Stevenage before signing for newly promoted L1 Wycombe in 2018.

Samuel plays. Injury doubt Cullen is sub.
