WTF is hapoening?

Starmer has repeatedly misled about this, and it's crazy.

But I honestly don't think anyone outside the media and partisans such as yourself give a toss

Who the ambassador to the US is is extremely small fry. I doubt even 2% of the country could tell you who it is right now.

It comes down to him having been friends with a wrong un, that's it.

That part of it didn't involve anything illegal, and I do actually believe that the government had no clue that Mandelson had some anything illegal at the time.

Abbott rejects Starmer’s Mandelson explanation

Diane Abbott has rejected Sir Keir Starmer’s claims over the Lord Mandelson vetting scandal as “just not credible”.
The Mother of the House, who is currently suspended from Labour and sitting as a Labour MP, said she did not believe the Prime Minister’s claim that he only knew on Tuesday that his former US ambassador had failed the vetting process.
Ms Abbott told LBC’s Andrew Marr: “I never bought the story that Keir Starmer wasn’t told in the first place.”
She continued: “When I came down from Cambridge, my first job was as a career civil servant, and you get the most elaborate vetting in the civil service even if you’re new like myself.
“So the idea that he’s now still saying he didn’t know... This is a man who was director of public prosecutions. The fact that he wasn’t across these matters is just not credible.”

This is the pattern for this man. Director of public Prosecutions. It always wasn’t him or he didn’t know. Either he is a liar, which I believe him to be , or he is incompetent. Plausible deniability is his favourite phrase. Rachael with her exaggerated cv, Reynolds saying he was a solicitor when he wasn’t , a whole host of Labour ministers resigning because of one scandal or another and this man. Lies or obfuscation. Probably thinks he is doing it for the greater good.

Either way he is unfit to govern and we should have a general election to put it to the people

Wow

Trump has given me no time to give him credit for getting the Straight of Hormuz open before his own idiocy has gotten it closed again.

But it appears that Starmer hasn't misled anyone. He approved the choice of Mandelson as our ambassador to the US. This didn't seem such a bad choice at the time, but once Mandelson became tainted by revelations that he stayed friends with Epstein too long, he had to go.

Now we find that within arcane civil service procedures, Starmer wasn't told that Mandelson came up dodgy when vetted for security. Badenoch and Farage instantly demand that he resign for something he wasn't told. News bulletins went on and on and on about it for days. Move on, FFS!

Partygate involved boozy parties at No 10 under Boris when the rest of us were strictly forbidden from gathering in any numbers due to Covid. Strikes me as a far more serious breach of trust with the people of this country, but Mandygate is now compared to Partygate.

How old are you Pebble because anyone who has been alive in the last 30 years would have known Mandelson was a big risk
