Would it catch on?

What really got the hairs on the back of my neck standing to attention was the times when the entire ground would be repeating the single word "Derby", time after time after time.

I'd love to get that going at Pride Park... but would it catch on.

It's at 3:30 and 6:40 into this Alan Hinton video......

Brilliant video and to younger fans of football... it may be just nostalgia but my experience is that football crowds were more basic, probably a bit more rowdy, rough and ready (ok the occasional violence was a downside) and overall more passionate.

Not knocking the younger fan - I think there are many more things to do if you are a younger person than in the 70's and 80's - but perhaps on average football meant more to the fan.

Feel free to come back at me younger (30 somethings and below) Derby fans. As I say, not knocking you. Life and society has changed and perhaps there are more distractions.

Beer certainly IS better nowadays!
