World Series Baseball

I know I'm probably pissing in the wind, but are any of you baseball fans? I'm sure Brownie is but are there any UK fans? I'm a Tampa Bay Rays fan but am watching Chicago Cubs v Cleveland Indians and its turning into a great series. For the unitiatatied it's like cricket but interesting

Baseball like cricket? Interesting? Nope, you've got me stumped there (note the cricket reference)

Sorry Andy. I've tried so many times to get into baseball, and just can't get on with it at all.

I do love the NFL though. Been following the Dolphins since the mid-80s, and as per Villa, I am let down by them time and again.

But as for baseball, I do have an Atlanta Braves cap, but that's as far as it goes.

It's just a girly rounders game and to call it a world series is just a joke.

A bit like how they call their version of rugby "football"

Never been to a game but family and friends were while in the States.

Friends of mine were in New York a few weeks ago and caught a Yankees game, said it was the most boring experience ever. 6 hours. Couldn't even afford to drink through it as pints were 12 quid! The most exciting part of the game was when Louis C.K was spotted in the crowd and appeared on the big screen for 2 seconds.

Also, I've always wondered why it's called the World Series?

Disgraceful Andy!.

And nothing more than i would expect from someone living in a country who has Donald Trump as a candidate for President. Lol.

I was told that the original "World Series" was named after the news paper "The World " which sponsored it.
I have a Cleveland Indians pint glass given to me by VB.

I watched it Andy but only so I'd have something to talk to some Americans about.

Personally the game bores the piss out of me but its a good day out to have a few drinks in the sun much like Cricket which is even more boring.

Cricket and Baseball are games for the alcoholics.

Quite possibly, although in keeping with the American obsession with grandeur, the winners of the NFL Superbowl call themselves the 'World Champions', and I daresay it's the same in the NBA as well.
