Maybe from Peps view point but, it is not a waste of energy for all the Clubs that get a chance of a crack at the big boys twice a season.

''Honest'' Sepp loved the power too much as FIFA boss. It's about time individual FIFA presidents had fixed terms with a maximum time in the job of say two. Fifa broke, what a joke, they have rolled in sponsorship money for decades.

I heard one justification given as “it provides a platform for artists at a time when they are struggling with record sales”. 🙄
 
I mean why limit it to 64 teams? Go for broke FIFA and invite ALL 195 countries - it might take 7 months and involve the winning team playing 40+ games but WTF eh?
