World Cup

I was chuffed to see them go out! The hype is over and England lost again when coming up against a decent side. They were lucky they had the run they did otherwise they wouldn't have got near the semi final.

Belgium once again got the better of a tired looked England side in this tournament, this time to snatch third place.
Meunier scored after only 4 mins getting in front of a static Danny Rose from a Chadli cross.
Eden Hazard made it 2-0 for Belgium on 82 mins when he got the better of Phil Jones to beat Pickford, who had just made a great save from Meunier, with a powerful finish.
In between, England’s best chances were Dier's chip cleared off the line by Alderweireld, and Harry Maguire heading wide from a good position.
Kane ended the 2018 World Cup with six goals from six shots on target to be odds on favourite to win the Golden Boot award but ironically he had just one shot on target in his final four games, a penalty against Colombia.

France beat Croatia in an exciting match full of controversy. France took the lead with a defection off Mandzukic from a free kick on 18 mins but it was all Croatia first half and they deservedly equalised 10 mins later hrough Perisic’s left foot strike.
France took the lead again before half time through a dubious penalty for hand ball by Perisic, Griezmann converted.
Second half Pogba and Mbappe scored in the 59 and 69 min respectively but Croatia fought to the end and pulled one back through Mandzukic on 69 min from a mistake by Lloris, but it was not to be as France saw out the win.

Only saw the last 20 or so of the final. Sounded like Croatia played well and France were helped by early VAR decision? Think worthy team won in the end though
