Woodyard Made Peterborough Captain

A top prospect who went out the door for little money imo,due to his slimey inserting the BUYOUT clause.....nothing lcfc could do about it.

.The day that clause was inserted he was on his way.(slimey bought a new Merc i suppose)

I could see AW holding down a position in a championship side IN THE FUTURE and predict Posh will give him the big PR and move him on for big dough within 24 months.(DO WE HAVE A SELL ON CLAUSE?)

10 games in we can assess if we are missing him in our first 11.

Without the buyout clause he may not have signed a new contract (been told not to sign a new contract.) and left last summer so the clause may have got us an extra year.

I agree he went for less than he’s worth and Posh will make a profit unless he gets Evans-ed in which he’ll be back quickly.

I would have thought if they paid a buy out clause there’s no need to include a sell on clause unless it was part of the buy out - which is unlikely but not impossible.

What a ridiculous comment re "slimey".

1. As Imps2018 rightly says, Alex wouldn't have signed a new contract without the buy out clause.

2. An agent's job is to get the best deal for his client. The club is under no obligation to agree to anything suggested by an agent..

3. If a buy out clause is met, Alex is under no obligation to move - unless he wants to. Which he obviously did.

Im sure the sell on and buy out clauses is something the club will look at. When we took Alex on it was the start of the new chapter look on the positive side. Peterborough have produced a good business model not sure how they will go with evans in charge

You'd think so wouldn't you? In the last 10 years Peterborough have lost a total of almost £5m.

It's alright saying that the odd big money transfer recoups that, but even if you continue to replace those players (and Fry has) the underlying structural losses outstrip it.

£5m quid loss over 10 years to sustain a club of Peterborough's size in the championship / league 1? Pretty good business effort I would say compared to many...

That depends if they still owe that money or someone else (owner?) has taken the loss.

As we know, the income in L1 isn't that much greater than league 2. With gates of 5000, and a big squad of players on good money, they need to be selling players regularly. Their fans do moan and expect more though.

Not interested what goes on at that club whatsoever, especially with the odious Evans in charge .... p.s. he never once kicked it 40 yards either ?

Just a different slant to this thread, how often in recent pre-Cowley seasons have gone on to be captain of another team?
