The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Surprised no one has started a thread.

Must admit, getting a bit tired of the way the game has developed into just serve and volley,

Was listening to McEnroe the other day saying they need to do something about it and I agree. Was also funny he said in his day they would use the same racket for a few games, now they seem to change them every other point.

Rackets have become too good and too integral to how the game is played.

Nadal had a good fight the other day. Murray getting through with ease so far, plays again later.

Oh and the days have gone of the personalities too, like Connors and Mcenroe, Nastastie and so on. Doesn't have the same life in the game today.

As naughty as they were they were personalities. Along side the racquets the game has become more bland

Usually get quite into Wimbledon, but I've not watched a single minute yet. Too busy with the World Cup I guess.

That, and the fact my favourite player Federer is a spent force and I don't really like Nadal or Murray. Djokovic is ok, but doesn't get me excited.

I think the top 4 have been the top 4 for so long now it has become boring. There needs to be a real power shift at the top now I think. Not just 1 new player breaking into that top bracket, but 2 or 3. That's the only way to make it exciting again.

Hmm are we on about the Tennis or Prem here? :15:

On the sporting calender Wimbledon is my least fav, I find Tennis quite boring.

It's not as interesting as it used to be GT: They have made the game so 'clincial' with the better and better quality racquets it has made it boring at times.

Not like when I was younger at all today. It certainly wasn't boring then

Nice easy workout for Murray this match.

The void between the top few and the rest is massive, can't disagree deano.

Another decent performance from Murray, third set looked like he might stutter but nope, he clawed back and won in straight sets.

The Canadian girl whose name escapes me at this second looks impressive as well, could well be one of the new generation to start winning grand slams.

Nadal out via a 19yesr old Aussie wildcard. No fluke either, thoroughly deserved win.

Murray got battered!!!

I had a feeling he would. Had £10 on Dimitrov to win 3-1.

Unfortunately the dour Scottish twat couldn't even fluke a set. Chump!

Dimitrov looks the real deal. He's been nicknamed Baby-Fed for a while, as he plays with incredible composure and has a very refined game.

Would be cool if him and Fed met in the final. Not sure if that's possible though as not checked out the draw.

Murray ... too many unforced errors, he helped in his own downfall there. Surprised he was so well beaten, not that he was beaten. But the nature of that defeat should shock him. Interesting how he comes back now. He'd looked (and yes, lower quality) assured before today. His body language at times is terrible as well!

The Aussie who beat Nadal was awesome for a 19 year old.

Bekker won aged 17, tennis players often reach their peak in their early 20s. Players like Federe and Sampras that stay at the top for years are the exception.
