Pompey Don And Dusted

This week Pompey’s involvement in the League Cup came to an abrupt end at the first hurdle. AFC Wimbledon came back from a goal down to win.

No big shakes as far as I'm concerned. I want us to really concentrate on the league this year.. sans distractions. I'd like to see us 'comfortably' in the play off places, which will lay down a marker for the following season. I'm still a little doubtful if we are really ready for the Championship yet. Just the money needed gives me the shivers..

I don't think we were too far off last season. Another campaign where young players grew and some others came in - which happened this summer - and I felt we could do well for a play-off place at least.

I didn't want to go out in the first round of the League Cup, but the reaction to beat Oxford was exactly what we'd have wanted.
