City's under 18 progressed to the Quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup last night at the same time that the Seniors were taking 3 points from Sunderland.

Although it was City's youth that dominated the match they had to take it to extra time to secure the win. with goals from Lukas Nmecha Patching and Buckley

Now we win proper trophies is there really any need to persevere with the youth cup? Back in the day it was a useful prop to hold onto during dark times - and it did produce Ben Mee, Kieron Trippier and Edel Weiss - but these days we can buy ready made stars off the peg.

The seniors are in such a good moment, competing on four fronts that this hoof malarkey will just become an unwelcome distraction - and non of them will ever start a game for the first XI.
