Why do you drink (Alcohol)?

I like the taste - so I'll have a drink every day.

Mainly wine but once I'm squiffy I'll stop as I don't like being drunk, if I'm out with friends and family I'll drink lager which I don't like as much.

Find this thread fairly interesting, i'm currently writing an assignment on Alcohol Misuse and one of the main parts in it is why do people drink. Its so vast that i'm struggling to only write 2000 words on it but good to see people's answers on here.

As for me, i don't really drink. Maybe have a drink once every 2 weeks and then its only a couple of bottles of beer or something. I don't really like the taste, don't like not being able to drive, think its expensive when your out, i don't bow down to peer pressure or social pressure and my Crohns doesn't really cope well with alcohol.

i love the head rush and the social side of it. I think it can develop into a much bigger problem if you have major stress in your life from work or relationships etc. (and you use it as a support).
