Just a taster from Daisy Cutter and a link to read the rest.

As a Manchester City supporter it has genuinely now become the norm to watch my club’s away games in Europe – and occasionally at home if I cannot attend – on BTSport, Sky or ITV and know full well that the pundits and station involved want us to fail.

I just want to add that this is not a recent thing about City, we are the ONLY British Club to reach a major European Final 'The Cup Winners Cup' way back in 1970 which was not shown live on Television

For once, Mr. Rising and I are in agreement and decided a few weeks ago that BT Sport is utter shite, extremely expensive and we will not miss it. Waiting to see the season out then it's goodbye and good riddance. You have to do it by phone and I have the number noted.



 
They have been seriously taking liberties and I am also tired and roofed up of the same tired old cliches, agendas and shallow punditry that has been served up. It takes the shine off watching the games and I do not want to spend my time having my blood pressure raised by their inadequate and biased commentary/summarising. Sad times when you'd rather not watch your team but if they (BT Sport) lose enough custom they might get the message

There was a good reason for it, Buzz. The FA Cup Final replay between Leeds and Chelsea at the swamp took place the same night (29th April 1970)

The FA knew that City had a final that night and could have had the replay on a different night, it would not have been difficult, as the FA Cup was normally the last match of the season with no other league games scheduled. Again in those days of course only two channels both channels always did the FA Cup live.

No I was pointing out certain things that happened to City over the years because we were perceived as a little noisy neighbour and it has not stopped since, hence the reason I am paranoid.

As for RAG pundits on the telly do we really expect them to not show bias? I take the bias as a given, but if we win, they can kiss my ass cause we know the truth. When we beat the Royals and make the final the Rag pundits will still say we have no chance in the final.

Just watch it on the pc for nowt. You need a good pc, a good router and use chrome and all is well.

That is my whole point JK, If you contrast the broadcast of City v PSG with that of Liverpool v Dortmund,. they were enthusiastic, the pundits were all over them even though two nil down they were still backing them, they did not have someone from Dortmund there.

Why was Ginola and Ferdinand there, it just depressed me.
 
One of my abiding recollections of the commentary from the PSG game was how frequently we were told how poor PSG were and how disappointed they were with PSG. Stats wise they are one of the top four sides in Europe....

and there was pretty much zero acknowledgement of the job City did in denying them opportunities. I didn't see the Liverpool game (there's only so much football I am allowed to watch without totally alienating Mrs Skoorb!) so can't make a contrast personally but JB has pointed out elsewhere how the French media back their clubs so it's bit frustrating when their isn't a balanced approach. I would like to think that if we had delivered that kind of comeback on the Tuesdy then they would have got just s excited.......but I suspect they would have commentated on how poor our defence was no how we should never have needed such a dramatic finish :060:
