Why are man's sexual desires becoming more extreme?

“Then you have to make further negotiations with yourself, like, ‘Will I do torture porn? Will I do fetish porn? Will I do... forced blowjobs?’ and things that you never expected to do.”

In 2010, Adult Video News revealed that the majority of the top 50 most rented porn films featured the physical or verbal abuse of a female performer.

You don't know women very well Heath;

The Rough-Sex Renaissance

"In the era of fourth-wave feminism, equal rights, and Leaning In, it can be tricky for some women to admit that when the lights go off, they want to be dominated and pushed around a little, even in the context of consensual play (which is, to be clear, what we're discussing here). But the truth is, many women (as many as 57 percent, according to a University of North Texas study) are turned on by the idea of forceful sex, as un-PC as it might be. "This is not a fringe desire," says sex researcher Zhana Vrangalova, Ph.D., an adjunct professor of psychology at New York University and founder of the Casual Sex Project blog. "This is much more common."

In 2011, Fifty Shades of Grey marked the first time a book about kinky and rough sex disappeared from bookshelves at an astonishing rate. Yet much of the buzz it sparked initially was hushed conversations at girls' nights. And its immense popularity as an e-book — it was the first book to sell one million copies for the Kindle — suggests that many fans weren't cool with friends coming over and seeing a fetish-themed book jacket on their coffee table. Fast-forward to July just three years later: The racy trailer for the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades premiered not on HBO, not on late-night TV, but on cheery, morning-time Today. That made it official: Kinky, rough sex has gone mainstream."

I knew this when I was a teenager and I can honestly say, never had any complaints or short on offers!

Always been very lucky I guess in that department. Knowing how to press the buttons and what women are attracted to and all that.

And now you're starting this thread............. I do seriously worry about you.

Not at all Deano, this topic is in ref to sexual abuse of women & being sexually attracted to it.

If we evolved from apes to modern day man, shouldn't this trend of becoming more abusive be reversed?

Are they becoming more extreme? Or were they always like this and the easy availability (or so I'm told) of internet porn of all 'tastes' has just opened Pandora's Box (pardon the pun :15: ) and somehow made it legitimate and acceptable to indulge in one's darkest fantasies and desires from the 'safety' of a laptop screen?

It's horrendous really. I'm pretty liberal, but the move in this direction is quite appalling. Along with news stories every other day about gang rapes and stuff in India, for example, it just speaks to a huge retrograde step in how women are viewed by men and society in general.

:21:

What do you mean, becoming more extreme? They have always been what they have been, but Victorian values taught us to bottle them up and hide them.

Deano, I would never torture anyone, let alone a woman mate, neither would I find such a practice a turn on.

Being the one in control in the bedroom is completely different to abuse and being sexually attracted to it.

We are talking about practises here too extreme even for the girls in the porn industry. Try not to compare this with hard sex and being in control. "NO" and "I don't like this" - are the key words. And these girls in the industry are basically saying exactly that.

Its very worrying and makes one wonder where we are going with it as a race. The internet(especially Dark web) I feel plays a huge role in the rise of such behaviour.

Personally I can't get hard until i hear the breaking of bones or see the spilling of blood. Does that make me weird?

:10:

Thats a joke by the way... of course I can get hard for other stuff too. :15:

It's really not difficult to understand, that which is more extreme and perhaps even taboo (great word, taboo, it should be used more often)is more exciting, the more normal or commonplace something becomes the less extreme it is and looses it's excitement so the boundaries are pushed further. I'm surprised that this is even a question that needs to be asked it's such basic psychology.

For those that don't actually try, just watch, their boundaries are only extended marginally in regards to personal experience but their boundaries for their voyeurism (another great word that should be in more regular use) extend to the extent to whatever is normal for them to watch.

the problem comes when the two meet but only for one of the partners.

Simples!

I thought we were created about 4000 years ago????????

What do you mean, becoming more extreme? They have always been what they have been, but Victorian values taught us to bottle them up and hide them.

This doesn't make any sense.

Either we are like this as a species, or we are not. What would Victorian values have to do with it? And who influenced these Victorian values to have the ability to make man bottle these desires up? - If it was man, that influenced Victorian values, then how can we be like this? It contradicts.

Maybe some of it is just more out in the open (as in talked about) more now because of the internet.

Also the internet = more porn = more self made porn and I'd say unrealistic expectations of young males just 'starting' as to what is seen as acceptable.

ie the cum in the face shots in porn isn't most ladies idea of a romantic evening in.

If this is a veiled attempt to have a go at me because of my dungeon, then :11:

My wife is in complete control in the bedroom.

She tells you exactly when to make the bed and tidy up then.

Only if I wear my French Maids outfit.

Oh hang on.............. I'm confused now.

I think the cheer leader outfit would defo suit you more SirDen being sporty en all that,,,,,just sayin!

I also wonder whether the modern (younger) man is a bit emasculated now and hence thinks that he needs to re-impose himself into a dominant role.

The younguns don't seem to know where they fit in now really, hence you see the young toad of toad hall weasels out for fights at the footie again these days.
