For those of you who don't know WhoScored.com it's basically a new and improved OPTA and they analyse and rate players based on key statistics and give them an overall rating each game.

The Sun Dreamteam game is based on the WhoScored.com stats.

Just looking at the Villa player rating for the season. Quite an interesting read.

Nice one Deano. Interesting read there. Hopefully Bruce will have them brushing up on our 'weaknesses' between now and the Play-Offs.

:utv:

The defensive weaknesses actually make sense. Lack of pace at the back leaves us susceptible to through balls, and that we commit our full backs forward (coupled with the pace issue) makes us vulnerable on the counter.

Having said that, I’d not change anything. In any football team you have strengths and weaknesses and the fact that our older defence rarely gives bad goals away and always looks solid when defending a lead late in games far outweighs the weaknesses.

I think the “non aggressive” weakness may be a statistical myth. I assume that’s measured in how often we’re penalized or on yellow/red cards. One area that Bruce doesn’t get credit for is the exceptional discipline he has installed. Under DiMatteo we had a slew of what I call stupid bookings. None of our players have even come close to a totting-up suspension since Bruce arrived.

There is no argument that Hutton is the better left back, but Adomah was in his best run of form early in the season, long before Hutton started playing left back...

Well if we're going off whoscored stats then the best player in the champs is
Adama Traore & the best defender is Curtis Davies

only snoddy in the top 20 best stats boys

ermmm

Did you see David Pruttons team of the year on sky.

Only Albert made the team.

That's still one more than made the official team of the season, as there were no Villa players in that.

So it could be said Prutton was being generous?

To be fair Adama has been outstanding since the turn of the year.

I do worry he'll rip us a new one in the playoffs.
