Agreed. That FA Cup Semi Final is this year's Newcastle.

If Mourinho had the spurs players he would have won a trophy. It might not be pretty but Mourinho is up for the big one of games. MP is still too hit and miss and whatever formation spurs play the aim is the same possession and press good against teams that spurs are better than but won't work against good teams who will give spurs the ball and counter like the Chavs in the Fa cup.

Winning two trophies and CL qualification is much better than winning NO trophies and coming 2nd.

As usual Chiv your right. Now wait till the Gunners put a trophy in the cabinet on the weekend and then wait to see what the "rose coloured glasses" brigade say about our season and how magnificent the ttino /levy combination is!

United have had a better season than us

Who really recalls Leeds?

Only reason that Newcastle team is remember is through piss taking.

It's about winning stuff

As posted elsewhere United have won more than us 1 year than we have in 30 - and we take the piss?!

This week I've seen fans parade around saying our GD is magnificent, we conceded fewest/scored most in the league - most points in the last two seasons - so ?

Man Utd failed in their PL campaign and got nowhere near the title. We at least challenged for it against a far more expensive outfit.

Jose effectively gave up on the PL at the point of no return and concentrated on the Europa. A calculated decision. We basically threw everything at the PL despite a shackled campaign missing Kane for vital games which we drew.

I have already said we should throw everything at a cup next season as the PL title could be beyond us playing at Wembley.

Since MP has been with spurs Mourinho won EPL, LC (beating spurs in the final), got the sack, came back and won another 2 trophies (not counting C shield as it is not a big trophy). Under MP spurs are progressing but it seems the philosophy is so rigid that unless the stars align it will be a long time before spurs win a worthwhile trophy.

Useless comparison.

Can't make out some spurs supporters...we used to be known as a cup team, never ever likely to perform in the League and some supporters belittled the clubs ambitions......now we are the reverse and complaints reign in again.

By finishing so well in the PL we are progressing leaps and bounds and the cups will come along soon.

The pl performances and the likely hood of regular CL year on year encourage better quality players to come to spurs.

We can become the 'new arse'. so to speak in terms of 'some comparison', ...year on year regular cl and cups coming at regular intervals....

Time will tell.

Get off the clubs' back and support the new regime, CL next year and Wembley home games to look forward to, the new stadium, further enhanced training facilities. best young manager, great young ,most consistent young striker in the league, all (in the main) who want success AT SPURS!, :1: :1: :1:

There football (as it has ALWAYS been under MOurinho's way) is different, not shit - we could have a long debate about the differences in his tactical approach, but most here can see the difference - there are many Manure fans that feel decidedly unhappy at what they're being served up, and for them winning two trophies still doesn't make up for it - the 'growing queasiness' is following the same path it did with the chav fans until they completely turned on him - and the same is true for every club he's been at since - he was positively detested at Rea; Madrid by a very large majority; but unquestionably, he is a winner at all costs manager and doesn't care how he does it or what others think.

He'd last 5 mins at Spurs, just as a previous 'winner' at all costs did who also took the same approach to winning football i.e. George Graham.

Let's also not forget that the quality and depth of their squad, the money invested is beyond our wildest dreams.

Fans are binary, I accept that, but those that can consider and think beyond that all know that context matters.

I recall all to well how the sorcerers apprentice (AVB) and his brand of football was received at the Lane and on here - and again we heard all the cliches then about 'miserable but winning football'...

So when you're comparing, consider what you haven't taken into account and you'll see that perspective and balance make a huge difference - if you can't do that, keep on moaning....

The direction of travel, the progress we are making is undoubted, no doubt Mopo does not yet have Mourinho's experience - but that's fine by me, I wouldn't want to have to suffer what their fans are now moaning continuously about week after week... :14:

Manu are the richest club in the world, and should be compared to the likes of Real, Barca and Bayern. That's the measuring stick they should gauge themselves against - CL and local league titles.

Instead, they bring the best manager in the world, spend 150 million, and they win the 2 least important cups after being left out of the PL race early on, 2 cups that none of the teams who compete for the biggest cups actually care about, and we're supposed to think they somehow succeeded?

Their season is better than Macn, those two teams are comparable, and that's it.

I'd rather compete for the biggest trophies and miss out than aim low in October settle for League cup. It's all about the PL for me. Rather take our season and what we are building here anyday of the week.

Just a thought, I wonder how our fans would react if we were in the position of any other team.
Pool - No trophies, couldn't mount a title charge even without Europe.
Manc - 150 million spent, brought Guardiola, no titles, no PL title run.
Arse - Shambolic CL showing, 5th, nowhere near PL title run.

Would Klopp and Pep be raked just as Poch is? Probably not.

Can't be prouder to be a Spurs fan, next year will be ours.

It is possible to be extremely happy with where we are and still be pissed off about the FA Semi Final.

I am living proof.

would you rather have 25+ dull as dish water games and a trophy at the end or be excited all season but miss out?

I'd bloody love a trophy but I'd rather enjoy the countless hours of football I watch then be bored out my mind like most Utd fans have been for the majority of their season.

Also with the players and money and coaching staff they have 6th in the league is a bit of a joke.

I'd rather have won Europa than finished 2nd, but I'd rather watch Spurs than Utd and I'm sure every neutral would feel the same.

I've enjoyed our season. It's obvious to me that Poch's biggest priority with this club is winning the league and twice now we have come close. If we continue to improve, who knows.

But let's not forget the massive differences between Man Utd and Spurs. Man Utd spent £150m last summer and that doesn't include Zlatan's signing on fee. We spent £70m. They spent more on one player than we did on all 4 of our summer signings. Man Utd are one of the richest clubs in football and people are shocked that they are winning trophies with one of the most successful managers in recent history.

What I will say is this... have you ever seen Mourinho guide a team to success without spending big bucks? MP is young and is improving with us and believes football should be played a certain way and he stands by it. So you can stick your hollow, money-bought, soulless trophy wins up your arse because I've never been prouder of Spurs in my time as a fan than I am this season. We're playing great football, the atmosphere at the club is positive and we have some of the finest players in world football giving their all for the club. Football is about winning, but it's not just about that. It's about us as a family and enjoy the highs together and riding the lows together.

The best PL team with almost all the best statistics ever in a season, never to win anything...now thats spursy!

We really are unlucky.

Obviously utds season has been more successful then ours. They have achieved what we have but have 2 trophies to go with it.

Next season is our best season to win the league. All teams have europe, we must grab this chance.

Did he spend that much at Inter?
