I was wondering about which of our starting eleven players would be a realistic target for any of the current top six Premier League clubs.

Geofspurs sent us the following;

I was wondering about which of our starting eleven players would be a realistic target for any of the current top six Premier League clubs.

This is on the basis that there would be a place in the starting eleven from the clubs around us but I’m not, on purpose going to mention which of our rivals would target specific Spurs players.

Here's my take on it, based on the team Mauricio seems to have settled on as our 'first' eleven:

Hugo Lloris - would be a target.
Kyle Walker - would be a target.
Toby Alderweireld - would be a target.
Danny Rose - would be a target.
Jan Vertonghen - possibly/not sure.
Mousa Dembele - probably.
Victor Wanyama - would be a target.
Eric Dier - possibly/not sure.
Dele Alli - would be a target.
Harry Kane - would be a target.
Christian Eriksen - I don't think so.

From the above, it seems that I continue to have a problem with our 'creative midfielder' position. Sorry, I can't help it but I have to call it as I see it.

Using this line of thinking allows us to consider how our 'first eleven' compares, generally, with our main rivals. It might also suggest where we could improve our own 'first eleven'. It might even make for some interesting discussion on Vital Spurs.

What do other VS members think, and if you want to, you could also suggest the clubs who would benefit the most from targeting certain Spurs players.

Over to you!

It’s a concern Tino that are two most expensive players are not good enough to be in our starting 11 fit or not. Lamela into his fourth season is very much an average Joe, the longer he stays without being wanted by other clubs, the more difficult he’ll be to shift. Our creative AM weakness has been apparent for three seasons but still not addressed.
