Who are the candidates for our new manager..

Nor I.

My faith in Paratici has been destroyed in seconds - I can get why tax issues and payments can be a big issue, but if the bollocks about Gattuso is true (and I'm praying it isn't) then we have become a joke and so has Paraticci.

Yeah this would be a mistake of EPIC proportions if there is any truth to the Gattuso bit...hell even being linked to him is a massive PR nightmare and yep it has started.

My God, what is happening? Daniel just call Potter and move on PLEASE.

**Though at this rate...if I was Potter or anybody else I wouldn't touch Spurs right now.

We are in big BIG trouble here.

I hope, I really hope, this is all just a deception bit.

Sadly, I don't think it is.

Ah, those transcultural issues you get when you bring foreigners into leadership positions whilst driving massive change. Who would have thunk it.

Just give Potter a call.

It appears that it was Fonseca making 'netto' demands as a way to take the Fiorentina job, who will pay him 'netto'.

Have dealt with Italians all my life and I swear they have a tax non-paying sub-culture that undermines anything good they do.

Way back one of our subsidiaries had the local tax officers who demanded that we pay his 'expenses' in cash for coming to see us, if we didn't, he'd put us into audit....we reported him to his boss, who not long after put us into 'special measures/investigation' ...5 years later they ended it with having found a wrong return by about the equivalent of £500. The feckers had cost us huge sums in accountancy fees (God knows what it cost them, but it must have been huge) - we sued and lost because the judge said the Tax people whilst acting unreasonable couldn't be penalised for a state 'vendetta'....

Never done business there since.

All I can see is Martinez. I have thought for some time that the delays and links to others have been a smoke screen as we’ve set firmly on a National manager and the only one that seems interested is Roberto. Not someone I’d want but at least he has PL experience and is a bigger name than Fonseca! Maybe I’m deluding myself that there is some secret plan in all of this madness!

Tottenham Hotspur have dramatically pulled out of their move to make Paulo Fonseca the club’s new head coach at the last minute and are in talks to hire Gennaro Gattuso.
Fonseca had verbally agreed to take over at Tottenham and had travelled to Ukraine, where his wife is from, with the expectation of being appointed next week. Sources said the Portuguese coach has been left “shocked and very disappointed” by Spurs shock decision.
Spurs pulled the plug on the planned appointment after deciding to move for Gattuso who, earlier in the day, quit as Fiorentina coach just 22 days after taking over because of a row over signings.
The former Italian midfielder is represented by the agent Jorge Mendes who will now forge a powerful alliance with Spurs’ new managing director of football Fabio Paratici. The move would certainly strengthen Mendes’ relationship and influence at Spurs.
It is believed finances were not to blame over Spurs’ shock decision to turn away from Fonseca, having also seen talks with Antonio Conte break down and interest in re-appointing Mauricio Pochettino lead to nothing.
A source said that Spurs had simply decided to go “for a different type of coach” than Fonseca who recently left Roma where he has been replaced by Jose Mourinho who, of course, was sacked by Spurs.
Gattuso, 43, has had an itinerant and unconvincing coach career, which started at the Swiss club Sion and has included a stint in Greece and at five Italian clubs. Most recently he was at Napoli and has been at no club for more than two years and was also linked to the Juventus job when Paratici was there.
It simply appears that Gattuso’s suddenly availability may have led to Spurs' dramatic change of heart over Fonseca who it had appeared to be Paratici’s choice. But maybe that was because Gattuso was unavailable at that time.
If Gattuso is hired by Spurs the incident in which he clashed with the club’s then assistant coach Joe Jordan will be played over and over. It occurred during a Champions League last-16 tie with Milan in 2011, who Gattuso was playing for at the time, with the former midfielder receiving a four-match ban after headbutting Jordan as tempers flared at full-time.
“I was nervous,” Gattuso later said. “We were both speaking Scottish, something I learned when I played in his home city of Glasgow, but I can’t tell you what we said.” He has continued to be a fiery character as a coach.

Martinez sounds like a god send compared to Guttusucks.

In slightly shocking news, Gattuso is apparently an excellent man-manager.

I haven't followed his career at all since he stopped playing. It's slightly concerning how against him some are on here.
