I don't suppose the suffering will ever end though really, do you ?

The difference now though is that we are playing for much bigger stakes.

I was watching Sky News this morning and they devoted most of the short sport's spot to the United v Liverpool match - in their words, "the greatest Derby in Europe" What about our 5 clean sheets and 11 wins on the trot? Is that not newsworthy?

I don't, like many fans, accuse the media of bias. The sports editors broadcast what they think their viewers want to see and we are still a long way away from convincing the International market that we are now the number one team in Manchester.

It's going to take another 4-5 years of dominance I feel Fred. We might not become number one even then but we'll be seen as 'on a par' with them which is something you and I wouldn't have believed could happen - not since the late 1970s anyway.
 
Welcome Fred - 45 years eh? You get less for murder! Just glad that supporting the mighty Blues no longer feels like a life sentence!

I stumbled into Maine Road to see a professional football match and was captivated by the atmosphere. I had no allegiances, I didn't even know who was playing. It could just as easily have been United who, at the time, were ground sharing but thank heavens it was City or I might have ended up a Red and missed the ups and downs of the 70 year journey to where we now are.

Incidentally, we lost 1 -5 to Stockport County; an omen if ever there was one!
 
Mine was a 0-0 against Charlton in 65 Fred.

A very warm welcome to you, I hope you join in the debates in the City form and thanks for the intro, I think that makes you our oldest member, probably one who thinks that Peter Doherty was City's greatest player.
