Tottenham, Chelsea, ars*nal, West Ham and Crystal Palace currently compete in the Premier League and so the question is, “which London club really is the biggest?”

Tottenham may have won 24 major titles including two UEFA Cups, one Cup Winners' Cup, two leagues and eight FA Cups but trying to gauge the so-called “biggest’ requires a little more forethought.

Average league attendances

White Hart Lane’s average attendance is 31,473 then add another 10,000 for Stamford Bridge as theirs is 41,516. West Ham’s London Stadium’s average is 56,963 while ars*nal’s is 59,989.

The new White Hart Lane stadium will, in due course have a capacity of 56,250 but this will increase to 61,000 while Chelsea’s proposed new ground will house 60,000. Therefore the above figures will soon become obsolete.

Other factors

The number of followers on the clubs respective social media sites, shirt sales and perhaps club finances will also play a part in how a neutral would judge which London club was the biggest.

I do not support any London club hence my question.

Which London Club Really Is The Biggest?

....biggest bastards are Chelski
...biggest ****s are Arse
....biggest biggots are West Ham
..biggest losers are Palace

So that just leaves us of course :7:

What's a person who does "not support any London club" doing writing for Vital Spurs? :5:

I'm receiving material from some relating to my 'VS is recruiting a co-ed' article. This one, which I had to amend somewhat before I published was sat in the sites email inbox. I just thought it was worth getting it out there.

Clearly, an undecided one - he has called himself 'London Student' so may well hail from North of Watford and be looking for a club to 'support' as he starts his life in the smoke....

an odd way to find a club I agree, but let's not be too harsh on the kiddie....

It's OK Tino. CS hasn't had his coffee yet and the snow they're getting in Vancouver is making them grumpy when they should be out SKIING.

Unfortunately, Chelsea is the biggest club at the moment. Ebbs and flows.....at glacial speeds.

Probably picked the wrong emoticon...wasn't really trying to be to negative about the poster, just being a smartass.

80, If people around here learned how to drive in the snow I'd have a much easier time getting to the slopes!

Average league attendances

White Hart Lane’s average attendance is 31,473 then add another 10,000 for Stamford Bridge as theirs is 41,516. West Ham’s London Stadium’s average is 56,963 while ars*nal’s is 59,989.

Are these numbers correct?

They look about right..

Well all the predictions of West Ham collapsing look far from correct.

Wait for them to get relegated, things will soon change. ;-)

My cousin is a spammer, he goes to quite a few games. He reckons he gets tickets for £15-£20.

I bet they get a lot of tourists going, not even real fans. Aha.

Doesn't matter who goes as long as someone does. If they don't get relegated they will move forward. They need new owners.

It's hard to really say anyone other than the scum are the biggest. they've got the history and the stature. Second and 3rd is a close run thing between us and Chelsea, although all the momentum they've carried over the past decade has probably just put them ahead of us. Spam a distant 4th with the rest trailing them

Attendance figures can be misleading as different clubs record their attendances differently. We, I believe, record the numbers that actually go through the turnstiles but others, such as ars*nal, record attendances as tickets 'sold'. If season ticket holders, say, choose not to attend a particular match they're still recorded as being there for attendance purposes. There was a match report on a fairly low-key ars*nal game a while back that highlighted this anomaly as the reporter estimated that there were at least 10,000 empty seats but the official attendance figure was recorded as a 60,000 full-house.

I believe Wet Spam are also using this method of recording attendances since their move to the London Stadium judging by the number of empty seats I could see on TV at their Friday night game against Man City (before the 75-minute walkout I mean). It was a good attendance no doubt (I always said that would be the case when they moved to Stratford) but I don't believe the nigh-on 58,000 figure that was recorded.

We also had 3 home games at Wembley of around 85k, 85k and 65k, that should bump up his figures a bit

I'm sorry chaps, don't kid yourselves. I once read that the biggest fan bases in order are

Man Utd
Liverpool
Arse
Spurs
Everton

Of course people measure "biggest" in different ways, but I measure it by fan base. That lot up the road fill their ground for nearly every game, and their ticket prices are astronomical. If Levy prices our season tickets at the same price as theirs when we open the new stadium, we will have an awful lot left. The Wembley crowds meant nothing. This was a very cheap way for many people to watch a game at the national stadium, so don't expect to see it that full next year.
