Where Do City Fall In The Forbes List - 2016?

US magazine Forbes have released their annual football richlist and Manchester City feature in the top 20.

Spanish side Real Madrid continue to take top spot in the list, and those clubs in the top ten are pretty obvious when you think about it, although the wider top twenty certainly shows how the Premier League riches effect the world wide game.

Overall in their investigations they found that the top 20 teams are worth collectively 24% more than the sides that filled the positions 12 months ago, and clearly that was a reference to the increasing riches coming from the television deal in England, as well as growing revenues from kit deals.

Despite football's world wide dominance though, the Dallas Cowboys American Football side was valued in overall top spot at four billion dollars - which is £2.77billion if that helps put some of the figures below into context.

Where are we in the table of European Cup winners?

And League title wins?

We sometimes get cross when the media draws attention to how much we spend...

We sometimes get cross when the media draws attention to how much we spend...

We get cross because they constantly draw attention to what we spend ( and sometimes make it up )and don't do the same for others.

That recent episode where Leicester's XI was compared to City's XI when the Foxes where playing the rags just about sums it up

What does 'operating income' mean ?

profit before taxes or interest have been taken away.

Wow !

I've forgotten the exact figure now but I'm sure our "operating income' was £120 million (or was it dollars ?). That's quite a profit even before tax and way above previous profits.

I'm amazed that figure has slipped under the radar. We've gone from £196 million deficit 4/5 years ago to £120 million profit ?
