What would happen if humans disappeared?

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Not had time to listen to this yet as dashing to get to a meeting, but thought I'd throw it up on here for you fine folks to dissect.

Snap! You’re gone.

If this happened to every human on Earth at the exact same time, what consequences would ensue? This thought experiment not only explores the impact humanity has on the planet, but also the incredible resilience of nature.

There was a whole series on this a while back. I think it was Discovery Channel, but it might have been National Geographic.

It's amazing how quick they think nature will take back the Planet from us. Some of our largest structures disappear in a relatively short space of time.

We really are just a blip on the radar, but that plastics thing angers me. I wonder if it lasts forever, or just millennia?

Upon further research, it appears that UV light does degrade plastic, to the point where it does start to break down. This only takes 500-1,000 years, which is nothing in the large scheme of things.

In 100,000 there will be little left to say we were here. Yippee!!!!

I saw a programme few years about this. They said dogs would quickly die out as well due to the fact most domesticated dogs can't open gates or doors. Cats would flourish and take over large buildings etc. might sound bizarre but the dog bit is pretty much spot on

Villa would avoid relegation and be forever known as ever present in the Premier League. :17:

Yippee!!!!

Agreed!

Far too self important a species, one day we'll get our comeuppance no doubt, just hope we don't wipe out all the other species as well!

Yeah I saw this programme on it a few years ago, bloody facilitating, I think Mount Rushmore maybe the final surviving evidence of Humans, above surface anyway, being that is made from granite and experiences little wind to erode it.

Did you know that they actually planned to carve not just the faces but entire bodies.

Fully dressed I hope.

We would have been an incredible species, very entertaining to the viewer. We could not, or should not, ever be ashamed for how and what we are. We will have had our time upon this planet as a living species like no other. In the grand concept - there is nothing called bad or good..Its just life!!!!!! And we all ended up, how we ended up. RIP mankind.

Personally I'm quite disgusted by the way the human race as a single entity treats this planet and other forms of life on it. If we were wiped off the face of the earth it could only be for the betterment of most if not all other life forms.

Easy, the last one will just put a recording of Lambert on the telly saying "We will pick oursleves up and go again !"
