What would footballers rather win?

It's interesting that on another thread We are debating World Cup or promotion. I bet if you asked professional Footballers would you rather win The Champions League and Premier League or win The World Cup I think it would be much more clear cut! I think the vast majority if not all would have a World Cup winners medal every time!

Surely the World Cup for footballing reasons. It’s the biggest competition in the world.
Winning the champions league will come with better financial rewards though.
Some who play for their boyhood club that they’ve always been a fan of may prefer CL for football too.

A top notch World Cup can be pretty lucrative for a player... see James Rodriguez

Probably want to win the competition that paid the them most money .

I'n my opinion the play only for their bank accounts , nothing to do with footballing matters . Football mercenaries .

Yeah and I guess World Cup's cause transfer fees to increase which will trickle down in wages and signing on fees. Yet I'd guess if you measured it the bonuses, both winning, goals, assists, clean sheets and appearances plus likely new contract with increased wages with the absurd amounts of money going round at the top of club football means that winning CL is probably worth more.

I think for a lot of players it's their 'advisers' that are the mercenaries and actually they do just concentrate on football because this is all they do since the age of 8. It's why they rely on these people to make the decisions, because they miss a lot of school and education whilst travelling, training and playing.

Unfortunately accurate this. Didn't the Spurs keeper Lloris only recently say he would rather finish 4th in the Premier than win the FA Cup. Clearly the bonus for that was higher than a winners medal. Bunch of mercenaries on the whole

Possibly , but in a scenario , where there is a choice between two clubs , i have a feeling the player would decide on the biggest wage packet . and who would blame him . same "job" , i use the term loosely, for higher money. bank account time .

Im lead to believe a L2 player has left to join a NL side for 8 times his wage . seems not all football matters either . Just daft really
