What was the last film you watched

Curse of the Mayans starring Olga Fonda, Carla Ortiz & Steve Wilcox.

Dr. Alan Green an American Archelogist leads Danielle Noble an her team of cave divers on an expedition searching the Mayan ancient records. Instead of finding glory they will find hell hidden in the underwater caves of Xibalba.

Promising but didn't deliver. 5/10

The Art of the Deal - it's Funny or Die's comedic film version of our great leader's best selling book starring Johnny Depp as The Donald. It's only 50 minutes long and it's funny in parts.

6/10

Surrogates - Bruce Willis and Rosamund Pike star in this sci-fi film about a future where we all wander around as robots (sort of). The Mrs reckons we've seen it before but I don't remember it.

It's good. 7.5/10

Wanted - Angelina Jolie stars in this strange fantasy hit man kind of film. It's ridiculous and fun and total nonsense.

7/10

Smokin' Aces - a hit is put out on a Vegas magician who wants to dob in his Mafia mates prompting a race amongst a load of hitmen (and women) to kill him. There are a few twists in the story but ultimately, it falls between two stools of trying to be funny and dramatic and doesn't really work.

5.5/10

The Stanford Prison Experiment - the film about the pretty famous 'experiment' which had to be stopped after six days. The professor behind it should have discovered what prison was really like for what he did. A nutcase.

The film is decent considering that we all know what happened.

6.5/10

I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore - a bit of a weird one. It's a low budget film that got good reviews but didn't really cut the mustard for me. A nurse gets burgled and in trying to right the wrongs in the world, events spiral out of control.

5/10

Bad Day For The Cut - it's a Northern Irish film about a farmer who goes out for revenge after his mother is murdered.

It's decent but nothing more. Plenty of violence, if you like that kind of thing.

6.5/10

Cold Skin starring Ray Stevenson, David Oakes & Aura Garrido.

In 1914, a steamship approaches a desolate island on the edge of the Antarctic Circle, where a young nameless man is poised to take the post of weather observer, to live in solitude at the ends of the earth for an entire year until the arrival of his replacement.

Quite good, quite different. If you like, moody, atmospheric, solitary, creature features, then this is for you. 7/10
