What's your earliest cinema memory?

Mine was watching The Rescuers, a largely forgotten Disney animation. I was 5 years old and my 10 year older sister took me and my 3 year older sister to the, now, long closed, Kings Heath cinema.

One film I can remember was Big Red. I was only a nipper so I was with my Mom & Dad. Anyway, it was so touching and sad that I came out of the cinema (The Capitol Cinema at Ward End) crying my eyes out!... But it was good.

Must see if I can download it.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the age of 7 at the Finsbury Park Astoria if anyone knows London

Even over 40 years later it remains one of my favourite films

Just checked Wiki, it came out in 1962 so I would of been 7 years old.....

First cinema trip I remember was aged 7 to go an see Inner Space.

Great film. Not exactly a kids film, but I enjoyed it.

I remember jumping around outside the cinema trying to kung fu kick my brother after watching The Karate Kid. My dad too me and my brother to see the Star Wars films when we were nippers but we slept through them.

Jungle Book, aged about 5 at the Beaufort Cinema, Fox and Goose - that was with my dad

First film I went to see of my own accord was

Abba the Movie in about 1978 with my brother

I remember watching Home Alone 2 and the teenage mutant nina turtles movies at the cinema with my dad. A few year later we saw Jurassic Park

When I was younger films that were considered suitable for people 16 and over were given an X rating.

My first X film was Bonnie and Clyde which I looked up and was out in 1967.

I went with my mates to Stockland Green cinema aged around 12 or 13 and I can clearly remember the lady in the front office asking was I really 16!

It was a great film and the final scene was unreal at the time for a kid of that age!........ Bonnie and Clyde (1967). Final scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrmUpso_xT8

Of course it's a kids film, not exactly an adults film though :33:

I thought it was quite scary for a kids film... all those blood vessels and beating organs... but then I was only 7. :-)

God knows!

But I do remember The Rescuers... I had a sticker album of theirs as well!

But I'd think some of the early Disney stuff really, Bambi etc

One of the first 'real' films was the first Star Wars.

And think the first I went with friends to would have been Airplane, I can remember laughing so much it hurt!

And you're a massive gayer

:17:

Really can't say for sure, I know I was well into films from an early age, I was luckily allowed to watch virtually anything I wanted, which is odd given my parents not so much strict, but sensibly restrictive parenting. I was swapping Predator for The Sword and the Sorcerer in primary school.

The earliest film I can remember watching is The Never Ending Story.
