Amongst a few other broken bones I fractured my skull playing cricket. Mrs Sir D was 2 weeks away from having our first child.
Anyway I batted with double vision and concussion (23 runs) and actually went to work the next day from which I was sent home after an hour. Got home and the midwife was doing a visit and she advised me to go to hospital where they did the x-ray etc and told me that as I had made it through the night there was no need to keep me in !!!!!
Mrs Sir D was not a happy bunny.

All we seem to be doing is demonstrating that men don't like going to hospital unless absolutely necessary. I'm not sure we should be proud of this!!!!

Well this was in 1996 so I don't think there was the same awareness of head injuries and concussion as there is now.
Mind you some fingers I broke I didn't bother going to hospital for if they weren't too bad.

LOL, I would expect nothing less. When I broke my metatarsals I went to hospital next day. We're not right in the head. I should have gone straight to A&E on both my breaks!!!

Thanks. The mid to late 90's were the best time to be young at Ohio University. One of, if not the best time in my life. So many shenanigans.
