What do we do when...

...the alleged malcontents return?
Our season looks like heading into freefall and I can’t see us suddenly rediscovering confidence and holding on to a playoff place after the last ten weeks.
It doesn’t end there though. Bitterfield, Martin and Bryson are all due to return and all on big money.
Bryson might be usable but seems to have turned into another sicknote - as if we don’t have enough already - so what do we do with them in order to get them off the wage bill and allow yet another re-build?

I don't think we have to restart, it was never going to be perfect this season, I'd suggest the rebuild is only halfway there. I'm just concerned whether Rowett is the right man to do it, because the players we have should be turning out better performances than Friday.

Butterfield, pay off his contract, get him off the headcount.
Martin, must be worth a punt by another Championship side, Burton perhaps?
Bryson, might be useful to a League One or Scottish side.

We have weaknesses, but there are some bright notes too, Weimann in particular has pleased me this year, and Davis too. We need a decent left back, that position has plagued us since Gareth Roberts retired.

Whoever we bring in / chuck in a bonfire, they need better direction than is currently being offered by our management.

Tricky one and one I don't think Rowett has the manager skills to pull off. but the season isn't over yet and when there is still a chance of getting into the play-offs then we still have room to manouver...............Obviously we are going to loose a shed load on Butterfield, Bryson etc but don't see anyone battering down the door for them. We sold all our decent players, Hughes, Hendrick etc and now we are stuck with ageing defensive midfielders who are feeling the rigours of Championship football.......................

Have to disagree Adi. How’s the rebuild ‘half way there’ when we have so many old legs and malcontents? Honestly, on the evidence of the last three months who would you keep?
Not sure if it’s Rowett’s fault. Think there was much more wrong when he arrived than we thought. He did so well at Burton and Brum and really does care about Derby...I’d give him longer.

In all honesty, only Carson and Vydra are Prem standard!! Yes, we are in the lower level but you need at least 6 or 7 of your '1st eleven' who can cut it it in the big league. Why, because then you will be truly genuine promo candidates! Wolves perfectly match this criteria. We have punched way above our true level and now that we are floundering our lack of 'promo class' has completely eradicated our confidence. For someone there is a tough job ahead, will it be Rowett...................mmmmmm??

Carson, Keogh, Davies (capt), Wisdom, Lawrence, Lowe, Vydra, Huddlestone, Weimann are about all I’d want to keep and three or four of those have something to prove.
Leaves an awful lot of money to claw back on the others.

As I have posted elsewhere, is difficult to say who will cut it in the premier, wether it be with us or another team. How many of festers championship team would we have thought would cope with the Premier, nevermind win it?

My selection for keeping was assuming we will be having another tilt at the Championship next season and going nowhere this. As I remember it, Leicester’s promotion team won with ease and destroyed most sides, including us, along the way. Quite honestly, in the ‘head and heart’ stakes, much as a day out at Wembley may be exciting the prospect of fluking promotion is scary.

ramAnag. Don't think we I'll be going to Wembley in fact I will be surprised if we make the playoffs This season we have gradually gone from being decent to OK to poor and that's were we area now I can't believe we've become that bad that we're playing Baird at left back a player who can neither tackle or kick a ball with his left foot We got away with it because Preston never played anybody out right But on Sat Bolton will push Ameobe out there and he will destroy Baird

Nah take promotion and the extra money that comes with it, what happens next is a gamble anyway.
