I'm loving hearing about these hot mince pies - that's how I like them, too! Usually with my homemade pears in spiced syrup (need to make more of it now though).

Today was frozen haddock in batter (Birds Eye) with chips and mushy peas.

I find it's better when cooked...less crunchy, too

Pizza tonight, from them wot sponsor t'footy. BBQ pulled beef with an awful lot of jalapeno for me, veg and feta for the good lady.

Today was sausages (Tesco Finest), mash and mushy peas.

I also made a batch of chutney yesterday evening - apple and roasted garlic. Not a recipe I have used before but it's reasonable.

Tea: Pork and cider casserole with mustard mash.

And he won't be the only one. I may have to give in and make a batch of pastry sooner or later... Problem is. Mr Hither thinks dried fruit in any form is a shameful aberration and thus I may have to eat them all myself. It's a tough life...

Sunday dinner was a frozen ready meal (Wiltshire) - lamb, vegetable & butter bean stew with potatoes and green beans.

An overpriced hotdog for dinner last night, loaded chips for the Mrs (topped with cheese and onion, bacon declined).

Spinach and ricotta tortelloni tonight, plus a Quorn mince, leek, peppers, carrot, broccoli and mushroom mix with a few odd flavouring bits thrown in.

We had a small turkey joint tonight with the usual trimmings followed by my bramley and blackberry crumble with custard…….really good but too full for seconds. Some left for tomorrow though!

Tea: Some kind of beef stir-fry with rice.

Cold roast chicken (left from yesterday's dinner) with salad and chips tonight - Monday is never very complicated at Casa Hither! Spiced pears (white port, cardamom and saffron) with custard to bulk things out a bit afterwards.
