Mrs E produced a delicious Mac cheese with added bacon, roasted cauliflower, leeks and a few slices of left over cooked chicken. I suppose not really a Mac cheese at all but very nice all the same and more left for post match tomorrow.
Hot mince pie and custard to finish.

Tonight we tried a vegetarian steak effort (they called it ste*k) - it was ok, but not super exciting. We also had mash, cabbage and broccoli, plus peppercorn sauce.

Today was a steak & kidney pie (Peter's), mashed potato and mushy peas.

Pre-match meal today was a pasta packet (Batchelors) - chicken & mushroom, with added grated cheese.

Vegetarian shepherd's pie (lightly spiced lentil and split pea base with green pepper, onion, celery, carrot and garlic, topped with sliced tomatoes and cheesy mash) tonight, home made tiramisu to slide into any theoretical gaps for dessert.

Last night was home made cream of tomato soup and a warm roll which helped to thaw me out followed by left over Mac cheese. Squeezed in a hot mince pie with custard for afters

Suffering a bout of domestic goddessery (aka procrastibaking) - dark chocolate and pistachio biscotti in the oven.

Roast beef with onion sauce and all trimmings tonight, warm hazelnut cake with redcurrant sauce and custard for dessert (presuming we have room)...

Thanks! We kept it light on seasoning to keep the seafood flavours strong, just cooked them in a little basil oil.

A light tea tonight as we had a late cooked brunch…..Mrs E’s homemade cream of leek and potato soup with a ham salad roll plus a hot mince pie and custard

Went well overboard tonight, being still cold from yesterday then decorating a house with only limited heating today. Needed something warming so went for Venison Casserole with chestnuts, mushrooms and cranberries. Pudding of homemade apple (from the garden) and cinnamon cake with a dollop of salted caramel ice cream. Washed down with a bottle of Shiraz.

Comfort eating once in a while is no bad thing.
