Today: turkey kebabs with salad for lunch and home-made leek-and-potato soup with Mrs N.'s excellent kertoffel bread (caraway seeds, marjoram and dried onion).

During this period of imposed restrictions ,apart from takeaways i have become a user of the pressure cooker . So quick to use , allowing me to get back to thinngs i enjoy doing ...........oh hang on

Pre-match meal was bacon, egg and chips.

That's what Mrs S will be having tonight with mushy peas. I'll be having without the bacon, but with added tomato and mushroom

Lincolnshire sausage and onions tonight with Yorkshire pud, quick roast potatoes, carrots, peas and cauliflower/broccoli cheese.
Too full for pud.....maybe some fruit later

Tonight we had roasted aubergine halves brushed with olive oil and lime juice, baby corn and a mix of marinated tofu pieces, garlic and shredded savoy cabbage fried together.

The kind lady next door has baked some fruit scones, had with a cuppa and a few McVities chocolate digestives. Well...alright then, a smidgen of chocholate.

Tea: a sort of up-market shit-mix from stuff we need to eat up, viz, aubergine and potato emmental cheese gratin with green beans.

Bit of a pasta shitmix tonight (got bored of waiting for the Mrs to say what she wanted after turning down all my suggestions). Sort of shell pasta (weird one from Lidl), cherry tomatoes, Quorn chunks, mushrooms, onion, garlic, butter beans, rocket and black olives.

After tonight's gratin triumph we're planning a whole series of them: Greek, Italian and even Indian on the menu.

Steak and ale pie, mashed potatoes, carrots and peas. And a not Mrs Riiiiik's home made scone with coffee for after.

Oh yes. The Greek one will be alternate layers of potato and aubergine with feta and spinach between the layers.

The Indian one will use paneer, peas and a mix of spices, I think.

The key is to slice the veg really thinly and bake for a good hour.
