Lunch: sausages (Richmond) with scrambled eggs.

Tea: Pork medallions in apple and cider sauce with mustard mash.

Mushy peas are ever only from a tin or a chippy.

But packet mash? School dinners scarred me for life.

Packet mash and tinned potatoes were a feature of our camping years

Pre-match meal today for quickness was a frozen ready meal (Wiltshire Farm Foods) - chicken casserole with mashed potatoes and cauliflower.

I forgot to mention Mrs N.'s apple, pear and plum strudel with cream. Delicious!

A slow cooker chicken thing tonight; chicken, potatoes, carrots, onion, garlic, beetroot, Dijon mustard and seasonings. Not bad.

Chicken fajitas tonight with a bottle of ghost ship. Sticky toffee pudding and cream to follow

If we're talking packet mash, try the Idahoan brand. It's not bad.

We used to have a roast on Sundays. Then on Monday we'd have the left overs ie cold meat with bubble and squeak

Home cooked Chinese tonight: pork and cashew nuts with chilli bean sauce with Hong Kong style vegetables and egg fried rice.
Passionfruit and wine jelly with a (very!) boozy orange syllabub topping for any theoretical gaps.

Spinach & ricotta pasta with tomato & mascarpone sauce. Garlic & herb ciabatta with a beer for tea. None of it home made tho.

Sunday dinner was mince in Oxo gravy, mashed potatoes and broccoli.

We got a pumpkin with our veg box this week, so rather than carve it, we're cooking with it. Updates to follow when we've had a thorough google!

Last nights near cousin to your chicken was crispy (smoked) paprika chicken with tomato, fennel and lentils and Spanish rice (which had chilli so possibly Mexican with an identity crisis).

Smoked paprika and the fennel smelled terrific when cooking and it tasted good too.

Yes Notty, the boy wasn’t too enamoured with it tbf, but once Brandy was mentioned he ate it. The next iteration for me will be sometime over Christmas. The Family aren’t much into Christmas pudding.

However, what Mrs G does for our Christmas pudding equivalent for the family is;

Warm crepes, Spoonful of cream, couple of scoops of Haagen Daz, Warm Cherries with a little Cointreau mixed in.

On a similar theme same as above but with waffles instead of crepes.
