We actually ended up having fish and chips (with curry sauce for me, gravy for the Mrs), plus mushy peas and I had a can of dandelion and burdock. Very nice after a good walk. Having the prawn/tomato/chow mein sauce/egg fried rice tonight.

We actually have real mice in the house atm. Used a humane trap to get 2 of them but another has appeared!

Our younger dog, Bramble, is going a bit mental over them.

I normally have beans on toast or with a jacket, with lashings of brown sauce. I don’t have them with chips.

Oh, okay. I like baked beans with a pork chop and chips. Or chicken, chips and beans.

An essential food for me are baked beans. Currently CO-OP beans are head and shoulders above Heinz, HP or Branston. IMO.

cooked with mushrooms, celery, leaks, onion and garlic plus thyme
Served with jacket potatoes and garden peas. Pinot Grigio blush with.

We had the fishes, but no bread. Mrs CI bought some sumac to play with, resulting in nice lemony poached basa fillets on a spicy, aubergine/ ratatouille veg sauce. Yum!

It's a funny spice, sumac. We use it occasionally and sometimes it works in the dish and sometimes it doesn't. Very pungent and earthy.

Luncheon for me today was a frozen ready meal (Wiltshire Farm Foods) - liver & bacon casserole with mash, green beans and carrots.

Homemade soup followed by a home made bramble pancake. Just what you need after a 6 mile walk.

Lunch was caprese salad made with our own home-grown tomatoes, followed by melon.

Tea, by contrast, is going to be dirty take-away pizza.

Left over chicken and veg soup for lunch with toasted sourdough and
steak and chips tonight with mushrooms, onion rings and peas

Chicken sandwich for dinner.
Vegetable pizza and salad for tea. Glass of red.

Spaghetti bolognese for us tonight - well, some spaghetti and some smashed lasagna sheets because we didn't have enough spaghetti in the house! Thankfully it worked well.
