What Ads Do You Get?

We all know that ads are important to the network. I'm not criticising the network or Google but I am curious about the ads that you get.

At the moment I'm getting a lot of ads for Harley Davidson even though I'm not interested in motorbikes and don't even have a licence to ride one. I guess I fit a demographic somewhere.

I get a few random others for internet packages, property and telecoms but just now I got one for some webcam site with a gif of a girl biting her lip and smiling. I should have clicked on it so I'd get more of those.

I guess this kind of advertising is still in its infancy and is very much a work in progress.

Since we all get different ads which are supposed to be targeted to things which we are interested in, what ads do you get?
 
I've just seen the ad with the girl biting her lip. It's for Big and it's an app that has something to do with fashion. How disappointing.

But seriously, just random stuff, like cars and Virgin media etc, some betting sites I think too. I don't think they've pinned me down just yet, but I can see it slowly start to happen in general on the internet.

 
Anything and everything atm cos I have recently finished the Christmas shopping online. Usually it is for makeup and beauty products, clothing, Joe Browns etc. I also get some odd things come up I wouldn't look at usually. That is because of my comping so the web can throw some very strange things at me at times. Tonight's was man bags
 
Right now, I've got a couple for Aldi - specially selected mince pies to the right, 12 month matured Christmas pudding to the left.
There is also a banner at the top for the Villa store and another for Transferwise (a cheaper way to transfer foreign currency.)
When I log on, I normally get one for "Betfair". I have no interest in gambling but I seem to recall Fear once suggesting we click on adverts every so often to build traffic statistics on the site and once did so with this advert. So now I get it nearly every time I log in although this morning it was an advertisement for the Aer Lingus Dublin to London service.
Now that we're back in Ireland the very explicit one on "Bumbiter's Weekly" seems to have disappeared.
 
At the moment I have a BMW advert despite the fact I don't drive.

I also seem to get a lot of 'writing course' adverts and I'm convinced they're trying to tell me something. :11:

Certainly don't get penis enlargement though, the internet knows it's massive under the belly that now covers it. :9:

I mostly get ads for bathroom fittings, tiles and plumbing supplies, only to be expected really as this is what much of my internet history consists of over the last couple of months.

There is an odd one though, and I get this on Facebook just as much as on Vital, it's odd because it's old. At some point last year I bought a few small litems from Wish, if I remember correctly I bought a couple of pens, a key-ring and a new remote control key case for my car key, however, Wish sell pretty much anything you can imagine. Starting about a month ago Wish ads started to appear on Vital and FB feed, as I said, I have used them before so no real surprise except that it was quite a long time ago, but the selection of products I recieve advertising for goes way beyong anything I've ever searched on the site and I regularly get images popping up of vibrators and penis pumps alongside pictures of fashion articles, electronic goods, soft guns, water pistlols and key-rings and the like, all from the same retailer. Very very odd!

With a purchase history for vibrators and penis pumps and kinky as ever, water pistols.

I don't want to imagine you in the bedroom dude. Your poor missus! :10:

It would be rather amusing to think of you getting ads for Malaysian Brides.
I wonder if any countries have ads for British Brides, Scandinavian Brides and such like.

I've seen ads for Russian brides and Vietnamese brides. Nothing for British brides but there might be good reason for that. I'd imagine Scandinavian brides would do a brisk trade.
