What a bloody hypocrite.

Look at the hurt in the eyes and voice of Tim Montgomerie, listen to Roger Gale's exsperation. That is the tory response without filter. This isn't done and Bunter has wasted way too much capital on it. No answers to specific questions regarding dates yet he had spent the previous 6 hours in Cummings' company. Just how dim and compliant does he think his own supporters are, never mind the rest of us.

But he has a large majority.

I think I will follow Nobby into self isolation, we are going through the worst crisis in my very long lifetime, and all people want to do is electioneering.
When socialist posters who defend the rights of the worker, argue for job security, demand laws to protect peoples livelihood, are more concerned with sacking a family man (all be it deserved or not) then I need a break.

What makes me laugh is the irony that the people complaining support a government that cut the border force and boats. When the massive cuts came in, was it not obvious what the result would be. The new immigration laws are made to look good but will improve nothing. It just means more third world cheap labour flocking to the uk instead of EU nationals.
What's the number of border force boats got to do with it? These people want to be caught so they can get into the system. The irony is that the people that were most supportive of the Iranian imcomers now seem to be the ones that are most against easing a lockdown.

The slippery slope to Sharia.

Maybe because the border force said at the time that this situation would arise with limited resources. They are also the force that holds and deports people. Your politics seem to get in the way of clear thinking.
The lockdown or not question is not left or right, it involves millions of people irrelevant of politics.

If you've not seen it already watch Johnson answering questions from the media here (from about 33 minutes in).

Notice how he repeatedly fails to answer the questions but keeps repeating the same shite.

I loved it when the journo (can't remember which one) said something like: "So Cummings was following instincts but everybody else was following rules. Should we all know be following our instincts?!"

Roger Gale and Steve Baker have been electioneering for the left then.

I'm heartened by the knowledge that those on the "right" wouldn't have dreamt of piling in to someone like Corbyn or Abbott had they done the same thing. Very principled of you.

I'm rather amused that a couple of you are "threatening" to leave at a time that must be embarrassing for supporters of Johnson (I was going to say Tories, but a lot of them are furious too). If Starmer had done a "Cummings" and people piled in, would you have wanted to leave in disgust at the tone then?

Another poster unable to avoid abuse ....

But the "whole country" hasn't.
Plenty of people have been quietly doing their own thing.

Most grown-ups (and plenty of teenagers) have been able to focus on the important message ....
...Keep Your Distance.

Many people have been meeting friends or relatives safely and discretely - including both of my neigbours.
(One side great, the other side can't stand - but wouldn't dream of being a hypocrite and reporting them.)

Has he ?
Plenty of people on ConservativeHome were warning against OTT restrictions - so there's every chance someone (maybe Cummings?) argued against some of the initial restrictions.

Abuse? Ok I’ll rephrase the start of my original post.

Tarian you’re spouting complete excrement.
99.9% of the country have adhered to government guidelines/rules for the common good of the people. Is it acceptable for the prime ministers chief aid to ignore the same guidelines/rules because he deems his circumstances more important than everybody else’s?

A simple yes or no will do.

Cannot understand why everyone's getting so upset. This bunch of chancers are only treating the us with the contempt they have always felt for us. What's new?Surely you expected something like this and now it's been confirmed. If you didn't, you must be very naive politically , in which case (as this lot will say) it's your fault.

Rob, that won't do at all. I'll save Tarian having to reply.

Where's your "proof" that 99.9% obeyed the rules. In fact, where's your proof that anyone obeyed the rules?
:-)

Yes Rotherhithe. Johnson did and said exactly what I expected.

Actually, tbf, I thought he wouldn't bother turning up (as usual) so I got that bit wrong.

I had a good laught at Jogills' comment about it being 1 hour's work towards his 40 hour year workload.

Once again making an excuse to support your gang. Have you ever thought for yourself or has your mind always been closed? Of all the posters on this site on both sides - You do seem to be the puppet masters no 1 puppet.
Have you looked in a mirror lately ?
You seem to jump on most anti-Tory bandwagons.

If I had a "closed mind" and supported "my gang" (which I left years ago) , surely I would have been defending the Govt's initial OTT restrictions ?
I didn't - so where is the "closed mind".

A "closed mind" includes one who supports "rules" for the rules' sake - without appearing to think about what the underlying intention is. (in this case "keeping a safe distance")

("Puppets" ? At least you seem able to leave out the more abusive asides.)

I was going to say the same thing! I'm sure 99.9% is a figure of speech, we all know the figure is much lower.

It is a difficult one to make a decision on imo. If you are worried that you and your wife are going to be sick, what would you do if you had a 4 year old that you wouldn't be able to look after?

something that Boris and Cummings didnt want to discuss or bought into the open. Cummings child is autistic and can only be left in the care of certain people.

Careful now, let's not politicise this minor oversight that shows up the utter rottenness and corruption of the politicians running the country and their client journalists.

Which one us has not sat on the committee deciding the lockdown rules and then blatantly and knowingly broken them while infected with a deadly virus on several occasions? Let that wretch throw the first stone.

Won't somebody think of the children? The probably infected ones that need to be palmed off ASAP onto their aged at-risk grandparents 270 miles away because being the most powerful person in the government, it's impossible to organise any form of child care in London. Be honest, we've all done it.

I think you're all being rather beastly and should be ashamed of yourselves.
