West Brom v Swans

Vital Football Legend
After our poor return last week of 1 point from 3 games squeezed together, we will have had 9 days to reflect and regroup before taking on West Brom and another week of 3 games. Leaders West Brom are now 12 points ahead of us and our disastrous run of home form has seen us plummet down the table.
Coupled with the bad news that Landore Academy Training Complex could be up for sale, losing court action regarding the stadium’s rusty structural steel work, several players out of contract at the end of the season, no money for players in the January transfer window and all our players up for grabs, it’s beginning to look like there is a hoodoo on us.
West Brom are flying at the moment with 5 wins and a draw in their last 6 games:
Preston (a) W 0-1
B.City (h) W 4-1
S.Wed (h) W 2-1
Hull (a) W 0-1
Stoke (a) W 0-2
Charlton (h) D 2-2
Our unbeaten away record is on the line in this match, can we maintain it?

Aldo Kalulu is available for selection again after a long term injury.
Dyer also back but Routledge still out injured.
With another 3 games squeezed in to the next week we will probably need to utilise the squad.
Although I remember when Burnley got relegated a few seasons ago and bounced straight back up to the PL, they had a very small squad and played the same players week in week out, Cup games as well, so an unchanged team worked very well for them, and probably they had a lot of luck with injuries.

Swans team are unchanged from Fulham:
Freddie Woodman; Connor Roberts, Ben Wilmot, Mike van der Hoorn, Kyle Naughton; Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes (captain); Andre Ayew, George Byers, Kristoffer Peterson; Sam Surridge.
Subs: Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Jake Bidwell, Ben Cabango, Tom Carroll, Barrie McKay, Nathan Dyer, Aldo Kalulu.
Baston and Celina dropped to make way for Kalulu and Dyer on the subs bench.

Lost possession from a throw in, more weak defending, through ball from Pereira, Kanu unmarked, 3-1, defence like a sieve.

Our wide right side looks completely exposed every time West Brom attack,
West Brom’s centre backs are dominating our defence in the air from corners.
Dyer on, Peterson off start of second half. Peterson not very good, continually dispossessed.

Dyer pass back to Grimes, Grimes lost the ball, Phillips goal 4-1.
West Brom dominating, we have been totally outclassed here.

Final score 5-1, gutless display second half, could have been a bigger defeat with so many missed chances.
Subs McKay and Kalulu nothing players.

Our next opponents on Wednesday night, Blackburn, leapfrog us on goal difference after us conceding those five goals earlier today.
Amazingly we are still only 2 points off the play-offs.
How can we regroup for the next match though, when the fight has gone out of the team, judging by that second half shambles.
Those subs in the second half, Dyer, Kalulu, and MacKay made us worse.
Did Cooper really think they’d make a difference, I’m baffled. The only player capable of turning a match in our favour was left at home with his feet up - Celina.
