Were Leeds that good?

Or was it Derby who made it appear so? Also how many rookie managers lose 4-1 at home in their first two games. He should have spent more time preseason with his club than swanning off to Moscow.:utv:

It hasn't been a good start for Ex Derby managers . Messrs Rowett & Clement are in the bottom three. More results like today and Frank Lampard will be joining them.

It should have 0%, Reading were by far the better team in the opening game and lost the game in the closing seconds of the match.

Wow...you can hardly contain yourself Basie, didn’t realise us coming unstuck was so important to you but what mista says are facts...what you think ‘should’ have happened is irrelevant.

Back to the question...Leeds were very good and this wasn’t dirty Leeds, this was strong, fit, well organised and intelligent Leeds. We looked like a rudderless group who’d just met up in comparison.
I’m not worried about the result in the context of the whole season but it does show the need for a midfield warrior/enforcer. We looked lightweight in comparison and frankly if the ‘old heads’ like Bryson and Ledley never wear the Derby shirt again then so much the better, the former was poor and the latter was so hopelessly out of his depth it was embarrassing.

Yes, Basie, they were. They were also, IMO, helped by a ref who was more than happy to book our lads, most of them deservedly so. He failed to card Leeds players for worse fouls than we committed and sometimes didn't even give a free kick. When he did give one, at least 2 Leeds players went for the ball to stop us taking the kick quickly. he should have stopped that happening but chose not to. He can't be accused of being a homer.

Derby helped them by allowing their players to have acres of space so that they could receive passes comfortably.

RA Agree with all especially about Basie funny how they always hide till you lose one FL must take some of the blame for this he's learned nothing from the Reading game Bryson and Mount can't play together Lowe can't defend Lawrence can produce in friendlies not in league matches how he has two goals i don't know But to be fair he to him he ain't a left winger Afraid of Frank thinks you can get results in this division with everyone running around like headless chickens he's mistaken Its alright saying you want fast attacking football you still need the players able to keep the door shut we sadly missing in that department at the moment Agree about Bryson and Ledley Looks like Jerome going out on loan not even in the bench I'm sure he could have caused them more problems than bringing Bennett on
