Well

That was impressive from England. We’ve been comfortable all tournament apart from the first half of extra time vs Columbia. Today we were comfortable, patient, great at set prices, always looked like scoring when attacking, and stand-out displays at the back. We even didn’t need to expend too much energy, which is vital in a tournament like this in these conditions.

I was very impressed. Harry (the other one) was extremely good (and he's a big lad isn't he?). Also Pickford made 2 or 3 excellent saves. He is growing into this keeping lark.

First time I can remember an England team basically bossing a game against pretty decent opposition. At just 1-0 when I'm usually on tenterhooks, I wasn't too concerned because a) we never really looked like giving Sweden a sniff of goal and b) it seemed if we did, we could probably go up a gear or 2 anyway.

It was not very much like watching 'usual' England.
I am now getting very, very concerned.

If anything it felt like an anticimax, almost too easy after the nervy edgy battle of the Colombia game. We cruised along with a professional performance and were rarely threatened. Had Sweden got a goal back, it might have been different, but we did what was necessary and moved on to the next round!

I hate using the word 'easy' but the second goal was just that. So easy I thought it must have been disallowed as the Sweden defence just seemed to stand still.

I'm starting to get nervous now, it's not really coming home, is it?

Well, I've been trawling facebook, and both David Beckham and The Queen say it is. So that's good enough for me

Btw - The Queen looked lovely in her England top and face paint.
