Welcome Pep

The reactions on social media and newspaper comments have been utterly stunning.

Those reactions are not a surprise. This is what happens when stupid people are allowed to pass their inane thoughts on to a wider audience rather than their very limited social circle and any passers by within earshot.

I referred in my earlier post to the depth of the bitterness that would be felt by certain sets of supporters. These are the same people who would have been crowing from the rooftops had Guardiola elected to manage their clubs.

And the old nutshell "anyone could manage City with the players they have" has surfaced again. Oh please.

Do they not realise the hypocrisy and illogical nature of this statement? The abilities of players is one thing but getting them to make the right decisions, enjoy their football, play as a team - that does not come naturally. You only have to look at Leicester City - would they be in their current position if Nigel Pearson was still in charge? Probably not. Has this happened due to magic or alchemy? I think not. Rainieri has galvanised them, engaged them....and coached them.

Above all those tweets etc are born from jealousy. That is something we have had to witness in spades since 2008.

I am not decrying Peps Trophy count (Yes I am) but some of those cups, well really they are akin to the Community Shield, I would be embarrassed if you counted the Community shield as a genuine Trophy.

I mean in Spain if you managed Barcelona or Real Madrid, you either won it or came second, Same as Rangers and Celtic, when Rangers were a force. Same in The Blunderliga Bayern, Bayern, Bayern.

My respect for PG will go up if he can deal with the vile and bitterness of the media because he has not come to manager their beloved Rags Oh and win the Premier.

Some excellent comments in the press today. One of the best quotes in The Times by Oliver Kay: "Van Gaal versus Guardiola next season? It would be dial-up against fibre-optic broadband".

I heard something similar on Sky when they said that City had just parked a big flash car on the drive and said to the neighbours match that.

The best part about adding Pep is that it means our players, such as Aguero, will be noticed for the Ballon d'Or next season.

The article by McNulty on the BBC ( ) is almost irrelevant - I barely pay attention to anything he writes - but some of the comments in response are priceless.....

At the time of writing there were 794 most seemed to be from rags who seemed to be boiling with outrage and many of whom reacting in the same way the 13 year old schoolboy does when the girl he fancies desperately turns him down at the school disco. :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: Outstanding

A little bit of a pointless question with an entirely subjective answer. Just look at it as Manchester is a very lucky City with two great football teams. Man City and Man City reserves.

several hacks are telling us what backroom staff PG will bring.

The Daily Fail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3427889/The-team-Pep-Guardiola-Sportsmail-looks-support-staff-new-Manchester-City-manager-bring-England-him.html

Sky similar to the above http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/10152854/pep-guardiolas-backroom-staff-who-could-he-bring-to-manchester-city

Welcome Pep!

Although we shouldn't forget that in an alternative universe Sam Allardyce has just signed Steve Sidwell on a free transfer. He goes straight into the squad for Saturday's fixture at Doncaster.

....and there it is.

In that alternate timeline Paul Dichov's shot in injury time of the 1999 League Two (then) Play Off Final was saved by his best mate Vince Bartram or hit the bar/post/low flying pigeon. City lost to Gillingham 2-1 and struggled in League Two for several years before managing to get back into the (now) Championship before suffering another relegation into what is now League One.......

They remain playing their fixtures at Maine Road which the club has struggled to maintain and is increasingly falling into disrepair.....

Meanwhile Stockport County secured a move to the City of Manchester stadium and, having been taken over by a rich oil billionaire from Abu Dhabi who has ploughed £M into the squad, are looking forward to securing a place in the European qualification spots in the Premier League.

Still brings me out in a cold sweat...... :148:
